Topic: How important are solar return and progressed charts?

This is open for great discussion y'all, how important are these charts in regards to predicting events in each year of the persons life and how much effect it has over a persons personality development? Are these charts strong enough to cancel out some things in the natal chart?IP: Logged |

Solar return charts -- no importance whatsoever. http://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/2019/09/14/the-solar-return/ Progressed chart -- only important to the extent you can unravel and understand it. Otherwise, not important. Follow your transits instead. In fact, if you haven't really learned transits, then jumping to progressions is getting ahead of yourself. Transits are the foundation for understanding progressions, and in fact progressions are just phantom transits you've already been through but are now projected onto future weeks and years in day-for-a-year fashion. There is zero value in predicting events. These tools show the astrological background conditions, windows of opportunity, like a weather forecast. They do not predict outcomes, which are ours to create and which we are creating all the time anyway through our expectations and subconscious patterns. And no, nothing in either of these two predictive tools can ever cancel out anything in the natal chart since they both proceed from the natal chart. ------------------

Astrology is an excellent tool to increase self-awareness - and a poor one for making predictions.Moreover, without a sound understanding of the natal chart, progressions and transits are of little value. Yet, when viewed through the lens of an accurate interpretation/understanding of the natal chart, they reveal where the chart owner is "at now" and where he/she is "going to" in his/her self-development journey for the current lifetime. However, no chart can cancel out anything in the natal chart ... And few people will be able to overcome the behavioural issues that are "promised" in the natal chart. ... So, perhaps we should aim to recognise our negative behavioural traits and treat them in the same way as any other habit that one is trying to break - one day at a time, and no recrimination when we inevitably fall off the wagon now and again. Progressed charts are important to me. They show how much karma you have overcome in your birth chart as of today. They also show our current status and karmic state. Solar return charts aren't important to me. I do longer term transits. IP: Logged |

I have been using transits since the beginning,
but have also noticed that when analyzing my chart and solar return a lot of things came to fruition that were interpreted in a solar and a progressed chart, that i did not see in regular transits..( an astrologer did those for me)
i do not do progressions or solars myself, but there is something to them, as things have happened they were previously mentioned.------------------
