I've noticed that when I meet folks that have a planet conjuncting their Sun, they display traits of that ruling planet's sign for example:

Sun Conjunct Jupiter - they come across as very fun, full of life and energy. Lots of good vibes. Jupiter is ruled by Sagittarius.

Sun Conjunct Saturn - usually are more reserved and can sometimes come across as stern or strict. Saturn is ruled by Capricorn.

Would Sun conjunct Moon give someone Cancer qualities because the Moon is ruled by Cancer?

I hope my question makes sense. Let me know if I need to clarify anything.

Yes, it's clear enough. 🙏🏿

My sister and I have Sun conj Jup in our charts. It does help to keep us upbeat. And to others, I do come across "jovial" and "larger than life" etc.

I also noticed that Ven conj Sat does also have me resonate with Ven in Cap.

I am not sure about Sun/Moon conj however. Does it give "Cancer" traits? Can't say. I find the Sun/Moon conj people tend to have the "extra" of whatever sign the Moon is in.

If Moon is in Ari conj Sun(barring additional Nep or Sat aspects) the native will come across quite passionate.

If Moon conj Sun(however) on Libra. That is different, then the native is VERY relationship focused.

Someone I knew had Sun/Moon in Tau. He seemed yo have the typical Taurus traits but exaggerated somewhat I.e. very slow moving, methodical, laid back and into their routine etc.

I also wonder if it could give Leo traits.

I could be extra. I don’t think it’s only about Libra traits. Like caring too much or being too detached, too positive or all gloom and doom. As a Libra, I value balance a lot, but it’s not easy.

Virgo Sun Moon- she often in a relationship, but once she is done. She is really done and moving to a next one. And she is like all over a guy. It looks like he is a priority. She drives couple hours to him, transfers to another job to be closer. She is her twenties. I’m not sure if it’s more Virgo or Cancer?

My friends were priority when I was twenty. I didn’t want other types of relationships.
I probably needed to separate from them to start to build my own life.

Did your Virgo Sun-Virgo Moon friend have personal planets in Leo?

It gives lunar traits you associate with Cancer if you are sign-based in your thinking.

Really depends. Let's expand the scope a bit first though. You'll probably have noticed that most (especially traditional) Planets rule not just one Sign, but two, and often these are Signs that significant differences and yet similarities.

Aries and Scorpio, Taurus and Libra, Gemini and Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, and Capricorn and Aquarius.

Or, in other words, the nature of Planets is more complex and multi faceted than just one Sign. Jupiter still very much rules Pisces, and not just Sagittarius. Jupiter's nature is not "just Sagittarian like", but its true nature is more like a blend of Sag and Pisces, with a slightly greater emphasis on Sag.

Besides the above issue, then we have to look to see whether the Sun or Moon is the more receptive/highlighting symbol in the chart. For example, if the person has especially Cancer Rising, but also to a slightly lesser extent Cancer Sun or Moon, then the Moon becomes a receptive, highlighting symbol for OTHER symbols.

So chances are, in such a person's case, then the Sun will become more highlighted than Moon. So here will be this person with strong Cancer, but even stronger Sun, and they may not be very Cancer or Lunar like all in all, as highlighted Planets tend to be stronger and more consistently so than Signs.

But, the reverse will happen if say Leo is highlighted in their chart--especially so if Leo is on the Asc. Then the Moon will become more highlighted.

If neither Cancer nor Leo is particularly highlighted in the chart, then Sun and Moon conjunction has some of its own meaning independent of Signs etc. Its often associated with a fresh and kind of, new, naive kind of attunement. All in all, Sun will tend to be more highlighted.
