Well the topic of the conversation came up during lunch time at work when a co-worker glaced over my shoulder and looked at the Yukata/Kimono market website I was glacing at. Valentine's Day is just a few weeks away so I kinda decided to do my gift shopping in advance . My wife is a huge fan of Japanese Yukatas and Kimonos so I kinda decided that it would be a good idea to get her a few authentic ones delivered from Japan . Here is the website for those who are interested: http://www.kimono-yukata-market.com/ After explaning that part to my friend, he casually asked me as to if I had any idea what my wife's size were. I told him that I did and he was quite taken aback when I told him that. "How do know her exact measurements?!" he asked. "I don't even know the size of my girlfriend's panties." To which I simply replied: "Maybe next time when you two are in bed, you might wanna do a little bit more exploring around. Try to get more... Inquisitive." I just thought that this viewpoint pretty much applied to most couples out there. I mean, with the amount of time you spend with each other in the bedroom, you would think that the average couple would have an idea about what their S/O's body measurements were. So how many of you out there know or have a good idea as to what your S/O's measurements are ? IP: Logged |

I did all the laundry in my last relationship, so eventually I just remembered his sizes. I also custom ordered him a shirt one time, but I only learned his sizes from measuring his favorite shirt. I used to remember everything, but I do remember most of his measurements.Of course, I think most females who are in more serious domestic situations eventually learn their significant other's style and size. As for the men... well... I'm inclined to think that you guys don't pay too much attention to what we wear because you'd prefer it off. IP: Logged |

Lol! Stereotypical thinking there... But... Touche . But even then, with the amount of time an affectionate couple might spend in their bedroom, a guy should end up grasping some idea as to what her measurements could be; Even if it a rough estimate .

^^Most guys really don't have a clue. At least going by both my own observations and what I hear from everyone else (not the assertion, but comedic tales of when a guy tried shopping for them). And this stuff doesn't help them either (especially #4): http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-7-most-baffling-things-about-womens-clothes/ More on measurements: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_standard_clothing_size#Women.27s_sizes http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/25/business/25sizing.html IP: Logged |

Husband and I have been married almost 7 years.... he knows all my measurements... half out of his sick obsession with dressing me up as his personal cosplay toy... and half because of health issues... we do not own a scale and the measuring tape is generally kept away from me... lol except where one of us is sewing/tailoring something... yes we both use the sewing machine! @___@ weird right... he's a Sagittarius, did I mention this? lol I'm fully aware of his expanding waistline, and constantly mending his busted buttons.... I do all the laundry...lol (that too, eh)! tell him when he needs new things, I pick out a lot of the stuff he wears... ^^; fashion is not his strong point, but I can usually make it work~ ugh....don't ask me his cap size... that's just in the *toobigforthedoorway* size range... XD The good thing with my husband's sizes --- he's virtually the same as my father, when my dad was healthy. ^^ it makes remembering easier... lol The bad thing with him knowing my measurements..... that even though he knows I'm size 1 he still gets size 0... he knows my hips are this wide... -------------- but he'll still get me something I can only logically manage to fit half of me in... lol oh he does this... XD see, the problem here is that he trusts his eyes instead of referring to the actual tags on products... or what have you... lol and oh... heavens no! he's neverrrrr wrong~! lmfao I have a gorgeous albeit used (vintage 70s) Yukata that I adore~~~ <333 It's a great gift idea, Xodian!!!! I wear men's clothing; (rarely womens clothes, ugh hate most) so he knows I am one size larger than him; and as he was losing 100 pounds, so was I; and I just kept taking the clothes he got too thin for. Except for breasts; my body shape is male, so men's clothes fit. Women's clothing is horrible and for my size the designers seem to think I should have thunder thighs and huge butt, so women's clothes waists are way too small and the hips, legs, butt are monstrously oversize. I wear boy's clothing/shoes when I am not so heavy. Biggest problem is that I am only 5'2" tall. I can guess sizes pretty well, so rarely need to ask folks their size. And ofc doing the laundry, buying the clothes, and repairing, well one just knows. My first ex tried to dress me like a girly doll or sex slave. Ugh. Not wanting any man or woman choosing my apparel. I will wear what I want to wear thank you. Comfort and durability are my only real concerns.

Well I certainly think so . Spring is just a few months away and she has been raving about how she would love a whole collection of Yukatas and lo and behold, with the prices they are selling those Yukatas for, I would be inclind to get her 3 or 4 of em :P. And HELL YES! I wanna see what looks like wearing them .
