There's nothing not to understand with that description so we shouldn't have the same problem as before.------------------ quote: Remember, love can conquer the influences of the planets....It can even eliminate karma.

quote: In her timeless book, Gooberz, Linda shared many of her most private sad and heart-wrenching experiences--the loss of her babies, depression, thoughts of suicide, and the pain of lost Love--and in this Forum we discuss the dark times that engulf us all from time to time, including understanding the differences between men and women, depression and other psychological disorders, suicide, the loss of a child, emotional/physical/sexual abuse, bullying, and anything else of a mature nature, but no sexually explicit language is allowed; no one is too Lost to be Found...like Linda's sparkling blue and silver Rosary in the snow...just Go And Smell A Rose...or Sweet Peas In The Rain (Moderated by Lexxigramer, Ami Anne, charmainec, and Venus)
It's a bit repetitive. Also, I think something like bullying is more of a Teen Spirit issue. Mature adults cant handle that type of thing quite swiftly. I never remember Linda contemplating suicide either. I do think she has some sort of bi-polar and wrote best when she was manic, but....yeah.... Welcome back Sweet Peas..... IP: Logged |

It also sounds like a weird plug for Gooberz.I offered the book to three people in the past, but they couldnt stomach it and gave it back. I enjoyed it at the time, but there is a bit of a lovey-dovey, sicky-icky-ness to it and can see where most people coundnt handle it. IP: Logged |

I lent the book to my mother and two other close girlfriends (when i was younger and more naive). I can see how it's not easily digestible for most normal people. That's why it was her worst seller. It's nice for young girls who still believe in Twin Flames and want to read an interesting love story....but I feel it leads them astray.Linda was a writer, a great word-weaver, she had her astrology down pat, she was creative, she wrote a couple of good books, Was she an enlighened master? Absolutely not. Very far from it, but that's why we love her. She was very human. We saw how much so in Gooberz. on topic.... quote: How do you like the Forum description?
I think the forum description is a bit OTT & does not put Linda in a good light either. Before the haters come swooping down on me, we were asked for our opinion. So, I'm giving mine here. You can leave yours and move on as well. Don't get rabid on me please. This is an opinion thread, not an argument one. So, it's not up for discussion. Sorry. IP: Logged |

Suicide and losing a child/babies was mentioned twice in the short description . That gave me chills and seemed too much of a focus.Other than that, good ! ------------------ We need to listen to our own song, and share it with others, but not force it on them. We need that imo. That is why we have a forum like this--deep, painful topics. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Agreed Ami Anne , we do need those important subjects. I noted they were mentioned twice and seemed OTT for that short of a paragraph. ------------------ We need to listen to our own song, and share it with others, but not force it on them. I think it was just illustrative of the nature of the Forum, in terms of the depth and profound nature of what it deals with. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I intentionally mentioned a few things twice. One was to show what Linda experienced...and the other to indicate the types of topics one might find here. I think this Forum has a really nice vibe now. It feels more cozy. And Linda mentions contemplating suicide three times in Gooberz. One of the times, she calls the suicide hotline and is put on hold and can't help but to laugh. IP: Logged |

I don't feel Linda was bipolar at all. And only a professional can make such a diagnosis. How can this Forum's description place Linda not in a good light when it merely references one of her greatest works? She bared her soul in Gooberz and shared her innermost depths with us. And she definitely had more than a couple of good books--even if you just go by best sellers. All of her books are awesome. Gooberz was arguably her best. Seems like you are placing too much value on numbers. You should take some of your own previous (as recent as last night)advice. IP: Logged |

It cracked me up as well!! ------------------ We need to listen to our own song, and share it with others, but not force it on them. Our songs are different. I wanted to keep it Linda-centered, since the name of the Forum came from one of her fave scents and from Gooberz. IP: Logged |

No probs, ithe description is good I have a very intimiate connection with Gooberz, I read it during the worst time of my life, I was getting abused in many ways, I was about to marry this person and realised I didn't have a clue about love and Gooberz opened my eyes to what kind of Love is possible. It helped me through every raw emotion I was feeling and it helped me process all my raw emotions I had when I was child, the ones that I repressed, but Gooberz brought them up inside and I dealt with them. If it wasn't for Gooberz I would not have had my awakening. I wished for true love everyday, and I realised my partner did not love me, I only realised that from Gooberz, he pretended to be my soul mate just so I would stay, he even said things like that were said in Gooberz, then I realised he had been reading in secret and tried to trick me. He thought I was going into fantasy land. LOL Then he later abused me and I realised what he was doing. He really hated the book, but I left him because I had enough. I once left the house with just me and gooberz lol Anyway cut a long story short, I found the love that I so desired and never gave up on. I didn't mean to get in to all that but there ya go. The description makes sense to me because of my perception and that is why I wanted a forum like this for every raw emotion and crisis that we all have in common. I wasn't going to say this, but I edited to add the description almost put a tear in my eye when I read it. IP: Logged |
