What a pity I only just saw Ami's "yes/No" thread and it is closed.
It struck a chord immediately.Last year when my younger sister was verbally
attacking me in my mothers kitchen, while my mother was in hospital, I remained steady, did not attack her back but silently prayed on the spot "God protect me from this MONSTER".
I tried to deflect her attack by using reasoning, but you can't reason with irrational people, so she just amped up her assault. My point is, that lack of empathy can certainly give rise to monstrous behavior.
My sister has led an extremely narrow & sheltered life, which has severely limited
her capacity for empathy.In addition she has a vicious temper.
This combination causes her to say things that are devastatingly nasty, and totally uncalled for and it leaves lasting damage.
And she has no idea, believing it to be justified Then to top it off, if I later try to address it , in order to resolve, this only results in a renewed attack!
The final cruel irony, is that she later claims that I am a bully!!!!! I have always lived far away from home, but she's never left the nest. She's always gotten my mother to believe her, and now she's turned my brother against me..

This is only my opinion but it seems as though they have some kind of internal tension/anger/conflict that they are unable to cope with. Therefore it comes out on everyone else.
Maybe they have some kind of tense aspects with moon/mars/mercury. In any case, I'm sorry to hear about this. That's all that you can do is to keep clear of toxic people. I've recently shown a complete lack of empathy. I feel it now but I am not showing it.
