Well, since I started this site, and for the past decade have given it a pound of my flesh--my bone--my very blood, perhaps only I can answer that question. It is my home, my refuge, my shelter, my extended family, and my escape from the thuderstorms of the world. It is not an Astrology site. It is a Linda Goodman site. Linda was an Astrologer. Some may argue one of the best. I see her more as a great writer and poet. That's how she saw herself. Her way of synthesizing Astrology gave the world many new Astrologers. Her way of synthesizing other topics (in Star Signs and Gooberz) brought the secrets of the ages to the masses and touched lives in ways heretofore unimaginable. The first three Forums are based on Astrology. Many Knowflakes barely leave the first Forum. And that's okay. But that is only three out of twenty-seven (1/9th of Lindaland). Lindaland has much more; each Forum is molded after Linda's writings--all of her writings. Linda saved my life. I love her with a totality few of you will ever understand. I would not be here if not for her. I dedicated a portion of my life to honor her and her memory, and I will defend this home from any desecration, just as you may defend your home. That's what Lindaland means to me. What does it mean to you?

At first, it was just an idea to reference material to help me better understand Astrology.

Then, I tripped over Ami Anne, and fell head first into NickiG, LEXX, Randall, MBlake81, iQ, and a few others...

I am not someone who looks for the conversation aspects of forums, more for the information... but, this forum had another idea for me, that's for sure!

It yanked me by the heartstrings. Linda Goodman's interpretation of Astrology in my teens was pivotal, really.

I hope, at least, this forum is a meeting place for great minds and great hearts.

if not for the great people on this site i would have left a long time ago out of boredom...but i first found this site because i realized that i knew nothing of the author of my favorite astrology book (only actually). after i got Sun Signs and read it, i thought "incredible". the book was in poor condition so i repaired it to the best of my ability (as i would any other book) and it still is one of my favorite books and for anything so incredible it becomes apart of me so i HAVE to know more and more about it and the one who created it...

so ever since i found LL i found a second family, i found love, and i found people who truly appreciate and cherish me..LL goes way beyond just Linda and the people here, it helps me to use my brain in ways i never have or had the opportunity before...this place has opened my eyes, heart and mind even greater than it was before, and i didnt think that was possible

If not for Lexx, my ideal of the after life would not have been refined, if not for Ami's love, advise and friendship i would not have grown as a person, if not for iQ and Geocosmic Valintine i would not have learned so much about astrology so quickly...and Randall and Pluto Squared make me feel at home and cherished like i never have felt before...All of you, thank you sooo much!! i love you

Lindaland is fun! It's like a playground 2 me and I float in when I'm bored. And! You get to learn about astrology! While possibly talking to hot people! What more could you ask for! I fink I found it by googling "astrology forum" and it was like option numbah two (after astro.com).

I found Linda after a visit to a new age bookstore in town. I had expressed my feeling/spirituality of being connected to divinity within nature, to a friend who is on a shamanistic path. My friend suggested a trip to the book store, of which I didn't know existed.

I loved the bookstore, felt immediately at home and drawn to several books. The book which most captivated my interest, was Linda's Love Signs. My interest in astrology originated in childhood, after finding a small jeweled piece carving of my Sun Sign symbol.

Unfortunately, I was not able to locate astrology writings beyond the usual Sun sign description...until finding Love Signs in the bookstore. As I held the book and took it home, I knew a door of synchronicity had opened. I eagerly read the entire book within a week, and hungered for more writings from Linda.

An online search for more of Linda's books, brought me to this site...and this site brought me to further my awareness with books such as Gooberz and Star Signs. To this day, I often go back and read Star Signs finding that the writings/teachings make more sense now then during the first reading.

This same experience occurs with Gooberz...I often use Gooberz as an oracle, randomly opening a page when in search of an answer. I find Gooberz to be the most magickal and msytical book I own...and I do own many esoteric books...

I love Linda's books so much, and feel she poured so much of her heart & soul into her writings. It is amazing how Linda's books touch the lives of so many people, from different walks of life, and bring new friends together on the path of searching within.

Lindaland as a website has meant much to me, as interacting with others on here has helped to lead me further onto my journey of self awareness and spiritual understanding. When I am not having a good day, or stressed out, there is always a topic on here that is relevant to my life and helps me step back and view things in more positive light.

I honestly do not think my spiritual journey would be as fulfilling, had I not stumbled into that bookstore and followed the rabbit hole to lindaland nine years ago. Many knowflakes have gone, returned and joined throughout these years. I've enjoyed reading the contributions of everyone, a few stand out in my mind more, but all have taught me much...just by reading their posts.

Some of the knowflakes I most remember, not sure if any are still here under different names...Rainbow who passed away & may she rest in peace, pidaua, sueg, fayte/Lexx, the magus, 26taurus, and sunchild.

Thank you for sharing your story. Yes, Gooberz is quite the Oracle. Linda poured her Heart into her writings, and that's why it so so touching to read them. SunChild is still here under the same name and is a Mod. Pid is BearsArcher and also a Mod. And Fayte/LEXX is Lexxigramer--also a Mod. And 26T is now T.

Very difficult to put into words what LindaLand means to me.

When first I came Here; a bare year ago this day, (according to Gooberz SilverBell Oracle) I never would have known what a close Friend and Companion that I had found.

Seldom am I far from this Place.

I'm not even sure why, but it Calls. When I am asleep, I dream of it. Waking, I Watch. When in study, I have one finger on the pulse; whether or not I am present, I am Aware. When Called upon, I return. It is a Living Presence that has taken Root in my Very Soul.

I feel that some of the most Precious Treasures are not even touched upon, so much that is Priceless fallow does lie, and I can only Hope that someday their True Worth will be acknowledged.

I am Thankful that I at least have come here, and I do Pay Homage to the Heart and Soul of LindaLand, the Man who has brought us all here and the one to whom I; for one, recognize as a True Prince, and you can take a bow.

I Thank You, Randall.

Well said Ellyn!

and I too- wish to thank you Randall. I've met some fine people and good friends here. I can't remember how exactly I stumbled across LL I know it was a year or two before I actually posted something. I loved and still do enjoy all the learning, wisdom, and knowledge members share. Plus it's a sentimental place for me it's the first site I ever shared my poetry online.

I love this thread.

I did not know very much about Linda until I joined Lindaland. So not only has LL taught me about astrology, been a place for me to share my tarot insights, a place to give and receive support during difficult times, but it also taught me about someone I wish I had met. There is really something for every seeker at LL, and that is testament to Linda's expansive soul. Sometimes I forget that LL is like a monument of a very special life, and a true labour of love for someone inspired by her life. It is humbling when I remember this, and then remember the times I have been ignorant of it. I am sorry about that.

Thank you for having us all in your home-for-Linda Randall. It truly has been a sanctuary for many of us at times, myself included.
