What do you do if the person you are trying to find a name asteroid for isn't on the list?

Example. the name is Chase, which is a nickname for Chayton. Neither Chase or Chayton are asteroids, only weird variations like ChaseLewis.

I've found "middle names" to have deep significance in the charts too, especially when the first name doesn't seem to quite jive.

e.g. For one of my children (before I knew about astrology), her middle name is conjunct her last in my chart. The masculine name I chose for her (were she be born a male) is trine the conjunction. Her nickname is on my Venus.

e.g. The other female child I had, her nickname and her first name are conjunct, and that is conjunct one of the spellings of my first name. There is no asteroid for her middle name, but it has something to do with the sea... so I would look up asteroids having to do with sea-nymphs, etc.

Also try the family maiden-surnames on mom's or dad's side of the family. If there was a divorce, check out that name too, especially if it became the re-married mom's new name for a while.

You can try translating any foreign names, and finding the asteroids related to the essence or meanings of those names.

Any nicknames they've used may show up significantly. Or even online usernames if you know them from the internet.

Hope it helps!
