"…Asteroid 4450 Pan brings something very earthy, very natural to any planet or point he touches. He’s no “Victorian” when it comes to sensations and sensual pleasure. Pan brings a link with the instinctual nature and couples it with a kind of wily pleasure. On the Ascendant, Pan gives the body robust strength, added libido and sharp instinct. He is raw and vital and knows nature’s ways. He is a seducer of the innocent, and the knowledgeable as well. He is one hell of a romp, metaphorical or otherwise. He is natural and fertile—a nature spirit, instinctual, rustic, sexual, potent. He is not shy. He is not a child. Pan loves music and dance, reverie, sex and celebration. When conjunct a personal planet, these traits and talents may come to the foreground…"Any Pan-Suns out there or known to you? I've found two fascinating in how something more sensual or sexual does reverberate somewhere in and around them even when only able to look at it from the outside and afar. Attributing everything to Pan conjunct Sun only is simplifying things but it does seem an influence with these. Any other examples or experiences with Pan? The actors Alan Cumming and Bill Paxton both have Pan conjunct Sun. I posted about Cumming's chart earlier so most info is there. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum28/HTML/002279.html He has Pan, Lust and Dionysus conjunct his Sun at around 5-7 Aquarius from what I recall. He has even been photographed as Pan for a photoshoot. Even his Wikipedia article says: "Once described as "a frolicky pansexual sex symbol for the new millennium" so... I think we're kind of in the Pan-regions here even without the longer explanations. Paxton has Pan conjunct Sun at around 25-26 Taurus. I also suspect the signs show greatly how their Pans work, but without more examples it's hard to say, of course. Cumming's activism and more seems to reflect the Aquarius strongly in any case. If you're not more familiar with his work you may ask "Why Paxton?" Many things, including his having been in a band in the 80s, making both men singers. One of the earlier works listed for him is a flabbergastingly sexual one, otherwise it's quotes and things seen here and there. Actually, it's so potentially sexual I don't know if I should warn for TMIs or because it is graphic, leading me to mention some things some may not like. The movie "Taking Tiger Mountain" gets described with the following: "Militant feminist scientists brainwash research subject to assassinate the Welsh Minister of Prostitution" and features malleable genders, talk of sexual fantasies (very focused on the penis in one clip that's out in the trailer alone), random sexual escapades and his even getting masturbated by a man, it seems. The women in the lovemaking scenes were apparently talked into appearing in the film by 19-year-old Paxton in a pub the day before, so... yeah. I think he kind of had some say in there being sex in the movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086409/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_74 Probably clear why I suspect Pan of having some influence, right. Paxton is credited as "Wild Bill Paxton" early on, too, so there's something going on somewhere. One of his latest movies, 2 Guns, had a nice interview where he talked about his appreciation for Jack Nicholson and how N. apparently always figures out the sexuality of his characters first. "Not just what his preference is, but how calibrated he is. Is he a seder or is he from the asexual to the f*cking goat man -- because that comes into your play." This because Paxton himself wanted his 2 Guns character "to be a little sexually ambiguous". Third example is his requesting to be in Club Dread. I haven't seen that either but IMDB says "Coconut Pete's Coconut Beach Resort -- a hedonistic island paradise for swingers" - and the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_y00sJ5Vo8 songs he sings as Coconut Pete are definitely raunchy, too. Seahorse wh*rehouses aside. Also in the way he uses his voice. Some of the song lyrics are hilarious - especially considering it's someone like Bill Paxton singing them - but your mileage may vary. IMDB: "surrounded by limber, wanton women on a booze-soaked island resort owned by Coconut Pete, a rock star has-been" and so on and so forth. He's said he'd like more comedy and got some in that but it's definitely not shying away from the Taurus-Pan with that role either. It's up to you to decide whether his playing a polygamist in Big Love falls under Pan's influence or not, since that character was pretty straight-laced other than the religiously ordained wives thing. How much skin he showed or how much sex was seen happening was more in Pan's territory again though, yes. IP: Logged |

http://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Alan_Cumming http://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Bill_Paxton I forgot what my original point was though, but okay, I'll gush over Pan-Sun men for a bit I guess. I know why I've noticed both with Cumming's Pan-Sun on my DC and Paxton's Pan-Sun on my South Node but at least I now know that I consider Pan-Suns sexy. Whether I mean to or not. Cumming seemed the sort that'd be fun and big laughs in bed and once I did actually notice Paxton it was a complete 180 degrees on his possible attractiveness. I mostly considered his younger roles gross or otherwise ignored him when not repulsed, but once the switch was flicked, well. It's likely his Pan-Sun conjunct my SN or my Lust conjunct his North Node but if sexual attraction for weeks on end comes through one or the other, I'd like to order the culprit aspect to my relationships in the future. Actually, don't know about reactions to the actor himself but in rewatching his movies it has seemed that 98% of his characters are suddenly attractive. Including the ones that were previously nothing but gross or Do Not Want.
I have Pan at 22 Taurus, conjunct Isis-TARDIS-Dynamocamp. Pan is antiscia my Ascendant. Not sure if my finding both actors incredibly funny in some roles has anything to do with their Pans, but mentioning it, anyway, because both ARE funny given the right circumstances. IP: Logged |

Yeah, that was going to be the other end not brought up with the examples up there. The Mystic Meg/Medusa (I forget) site that quoted Falconer up at the top mentioned the nature connection, so should probably have brought up that side as well if talking about Pan in general more so. Mostly half joked about the general image of Pan to some, although even if something was sensual it doesn't mean it's automatically "bad" or necessarily even excessive. Depends how it works or is looked at. *shrug* Thanks for pitching in in any case, bringing in other parts of the spectrum. May I ask, does asteroid Tinker do anything in your chart? It's not a direct match for Tinkerbell but if looking at Pan under another guise and talking fairies, I'm curious if that side figures in your chart in any way. I'm interested since it's the closest asteroid to my Sun, by six seconds or something. (If talking that story though, I loathed Peter Pan and how he treated Hook, far preferring the "not wholly evil" captain whenever reading it. I can't seem to escape strong reactions to Pan-figures one way or another though, whatever the purpose.) IP: Logged |

I have that asteroid square pluto by 4 degrees. OH and just realized it conjuncts my DNA in Aquarius! I feel Pan is associated with the Land of Pan. http://www.amazon.com/Land-Pan-power-magic-Earth/dp/B0006RVL2I
i am very connected to them as before. i am going to give birth to a fairy/human hybrid. IP: Logged |

Huh. My own PAN's not doing much; conjunct my VX, loosely, about 2º30. But my partner's PAN is exactly on my MC -- 0º09. Wonder what that's about? Our meeting did suddenly relaunch my project. IP: Logged |

Bumping old threadI have Pan conjunct Eros, true Lilith, and sun. All at or around 23-26 Cancer, 8th house. I would definitely say the instinctual part is true. I often characterize myself as living by intuition. I don't know why I do things sometimes, other than I feel it in my gut. Words, thoughts, and decisions just appear in my mind, sometimes unwarranted. But they are usually spot on. As I get older, I am more comfortable with following this. I am more comfortable with my sexuality as I age too, but all of this is opposite my moon, so....
