I'm having this big problem with makeup especially with moisturizers. I cant seem to find a moisturizer that has the ingridents I want in it or atleast have the most important ones. I'll be 18 in a week, I would like to take better care of my skin. I know I'm never gonna go under knife, even if I had all the money in the world, So I like to slow down my aging process.Right now, I'm using a loreal moisturizer...its a bit expensive and I've been using it for couple months and its not worth the money. Its suppose to be like 100% Vitamin E or something like that. Its not doing anything for my skin. Its not bad or anything..but its not something i would use again. Today, I went to the store, had a list of ingridents I wanted..I looked at every lotion there was out there and I couldnt find it!! What ****** me off is I couldnt find a vitamin C cream!! it was like vitamin E, A or B something. Vitamin C is sppouse to be the most important thing in there and I only like found one. I think it was olay but I wouldnt really trust that one. I found one, that was almost perfect. Olay, SPF 30 (most lotions have spf 15) but this one was light enough too..except it onnly has Vitamine E. I found this other one with SPF 30, except it didnt have vitamine E. I found another olay one..it said it has vitamin E and C...but for some reason I dont trust it and it only had spf 15. I'm just wondring do any of you guys have the lotion im looking for!?! and if its a high brand name that I can find in canada. What I want in it is most importantly vitamin C and SPF 30 and have emollients like plant oils, mineral oils, shea butter, cocoa butter, petrolatum, cholesterol, silicones or animal oils. Jojoba, squalene and lanolin are the best emollients because they dont clog pores as much and they are most compatible with skin's biochemistry. so ya, I mean the first two is important...but I cant seem to find it. Also, foundation, dose anyone know how to find the right colour for ur skin? I dont really use much..just under my eyes and thats it. but i always get it too light or too dark. I never know which one is the right one. *sigh*...any tips? I was gonna say something bout food and stuff..but I'll post later bout it.

The ONLY moisturizer I use for daytime wear is by Kiss My Face. It has NO CHEMICALS, and it's made from all kinds of good plants, etc. It's very light, not greasy, and works well under foundation.I'm searching for a better foundation. I use Clinique Almost Make-up...but I want fewer chemicals. You might want to try a Burt's Bees foundation, which is actually considered a 'tinted moisturizer.' It's light, and you can try samplers at most shops. Both products are available at health food type shops. Good luck. IP: Logged |

Hi Virgo, Trillian,Virgo who told you that some of those ingredients you mentioned were non pore clogging or most compatible with skins own chemistry? Lanolin is often one that creates big problems for a lot of people. It's even been taken out of most baby products in Europe now. Kiss My Face is good and non expensive. Zia Vitamin C cream is beyond fantastic. They use non acidic Ester C so it's safe and compatible with the skin. It has lots of other yummy goodies in it too. Vitamin E is often useless in a lot of creams as it's not concentrated enough. Sometimes it's not the natural form of Vit. E either. I like to buy a high potencty E then prick the capsule and mix it in a light base. It's fresh and more potent. I love Jane Iredale make up. It's so safe you can eat it. Not that I'm suggesting you should eat your make up of course! It's all natural minerals with no fillers, talcs, perfumes or chemicals that could be absorbed through the skin. Everyone has different skin. So I wish you luck in finding something that's spot on for you. Gia

I love Kiss My Face stuff! Also, I've found another great product. Eufora www.eufora.net They are mostly hair products, but I have found their PureCleanse Shampoo is an excellent face and body wash. My daughter gets excema on her torso, and washing with this product, and following up with their lotion almost makes it go away almost completely. I use the PureClense Shampoo in my face, as well as their body lotion (on my face). Since I started using the products (several years ago), LOADS of people have made comments about my skin "glowing". It's great stuff I SWEAR ![](http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/biggrin.gif) Another cool thing about checking out the site is that you can order sample (2 ounce) sizes from them to test it out before you order a huge bottle. Vitamin C is a very volatile ingredient. There was a craze for it years ago, and alot have been taken off the market simply because they are hard to stabalise. The are photosensitive, air sensitive, and also formulation sensitive.. as with anything, finding the right emulsion, the proper mixture and fixitives is a challenge. Anti-oxidents are important.... Formula and percentage and stabilisation is even more so.. who wants to buy creams specifically because they read Vit.C/E/A.. and find they are inactive. I agree with Gia, about the pure form capsules. Jamieson also makes higher potency vit.E creams. 28,000 IU and 30 000 formulas.. they are quite creamy... cream rather than lotion. I would prefer a night time use one for this reason. Neo Strata is a name we have in Canada.. They have Vit. C capsules that are medical grade.. they can actually claim the full anti-aging/rejeuvation benefits of Vit C because of the formula... They are encapsulated and so silky when you break one open.. You put it on as a booster underneath your moisturuzer.. and it actually aids in collagen formulation and clarity. It is sold in any Drug Store, quality clinically tested by medical professionals.... it works. The name of the parent company is CanDerm Pharma. They have fabulous products and work with plastic surgeons and doctors. Look into that one. In terms of foundation? There are so many choices.. Talk to a cosmetician.. that's what we are there for. She'll help you, if she is any good, to meet your needs exactly. I have so many repeat customers. Everyone waits until I am there to select anything. *Puffs up and beams with pride*IP: Logged |

Gia! Thank you, good to know that one can purchase these great products through somone other than the Doctor. But I think that quality speaks for itself though.. that you could only get it through your Doctor. ![](http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/thumbsup.gif) IP: Logged |

Pixelpixie,I don't use Neo Strata myself but I have seen it on sale in quite a few places. I must admit I adore Zia products although I can't use their stablised C serum or cream for more than a week. I have very thin fine skin. People think because I'm olive tone I'm not sensitive but that's totally not true. I admit I made my skin sensitive by testing tons of stuff on myself in the past. I'm really not using the C now. I'm using peptides and beta glucans. Go to www.immuderm.com I have the biological response modification data for how it tested on burns and how it increased collagen. It's very impressive data indeed done by several independent labs in Europe. Going back to the Neo Strata, I do hear it's very popular. It's on sale even at my own doctors office. I'm not talking dermatologists or plastic surgeons though, I'm talking about general family doctor. Where I live in California they seem to be cashing in on laser treatments, botox, vitamin and mineral supplements and now beauty products. It's less medicine and more cosmetic. The trend is growing. They've put an awful lot of people like yourself out of business here. They seem to be moving into markets I think they shouldn't be in. I was amazed when I went for my annual check up. Honestly Pix, my doctors surgery looked like a local salon. Watch out for this trend it's growing, coming to an area near you soon. You should be proud that people seek you out. It shows how good you are at your job. Gia IP: Logged |

Hi virgo ~ I use Lamas Beauty products and Aveda products. They are a bit more costly, however, they are vegan and made with plant essences. I rather use natural products than put chemicals or animal products on my face. You can learn more about these products at; www.lamasbeauty.com www.aveda.com ![](http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/rainbow.gif) P.S. Lamas has a few products with Vit.C: http://www.lamasbeauty.com/skin.html You can buy these products separately or together in a kit. IP: Logged |

My cousin is a freak about makeup, so I'm always getting an overload on advice (because I rarely wear any). Anyway, she tells me to wear a lighter shade under your eyes than the color you'd wear on the rest of your face. Just a shade, though, you don't want to end up looking like you got a ski-mask tan. It helps lighten the shadows under your eyes and brightens your face. Personally, whenever I have dark circles, I use OOh LA LA, which is available at Sephora stores or sephora.com. It is for under eyes and contains chamomile and other herbs to de-puff and vitalize. Plus, it has a pinky-hue that blends to look very pretty and subtle. You apply it with a wand, like a lip gloss. Fairly inexpensive. IP: Logged |
