Has anyone here ever tried this? I know someone who was hypnotized to stop smoking and it didn't work...however, I have heard other people that it's really great...I am in DESPERATE need to loose weight..ALOT of weight in fact. Problem is, I have NO will power. Zilch, zitch, nada. Plain and simple..I need a dieting drill sergeant! But thought I might consider hypnotism...just wanted your thoughts as I value them alot! Thanks! IP: Logged |

Amanda I'm amazed by this post because I was going to post a similar one in FFA last night asking about hypnosis It also relates to what I was saying in Ra's astral realms dream post of Knowflakes posting similar things around the same time!I was wondering about hypnosis because I've been asked to participate in an experiment recently and wanted to research it fully before going back for the second call next week. I never thought I could be hypnotised and wondered if I was the first time they tried last week? I recently posted something about an appetite increase for me in FFA and have gained about a stone in a year, so last night I searched for hypno websites instead of posting - wish I had now, how cool you asked the same I haven't any advice since I'm questioning too because I need to research this too, but I wish you luck. The hypnotist I met, claimed that being deeply hypnotised was the same as 4 hours of deep sleep - equally refreshing. I wonder if anyone has had hypnotism experiences? By the way Amanda - a dieting drill sergeant is exactly what I need!! IP: Logged |

Wow how cool that our thoughts are as one?! I'll do some research and then post my findings here for you to see and maybe you can do the same? IP: Logged |

WEll, I tried hypnosis for weight loss in one of those group things, with no results. Didn't work at all. And despite the money back guarantee, I had to practically threaten them to get my money back.However...I think with the right hypnotist, there is potential for it to help. Good Luck. IP: Logged |

Hi Trillian You know, I don't see it working on me either - that's from me the optimist! haha - I think it's only because I'll be too aware of being hypnotised or something. Well anyway.. Amanda I looked into it a little, I got this page http://www.lose-weight-hypnosis.com/ which says; quote: Hypnosis can facilitate weight loss by fostering hopefulness, reducing nagging thoughts about food, reducing stomach pains and pangs, fostering an appreciation for healthier foods and healthier habits and increasing motivation for exercise and other life style changes
Sounds good eh? Then there are diet plan websites like this which really don't do it for me; http://www.shapeworks-uk.com/ I've heard on recommendation that self hypnosis tapes are good. If you concentrate on them - set some time aside on your own, they're soothing if nothing else. I love 'relax' tapes before sleeping. This weightloss one and a Paul McKenna one come highly recommended; http://www.hypnosisaudio.com/tape6.htm http://www.hmv.com.au/product/dvd.asp?sku=899551 How's it going hon? It's worth having a go I guess, so we know we've tried it, I'll be happy to lose the stone I gained this year - if not I think I'm gonna save money & hypnotise myself into my own drill sergeant!! Hey JustAmanda, I was wondering if you ended up trying the hypnosis. I'm quite interested in trying it myself for a couple of reasons one being weight management. If you did do it, how did it go and did it work for you?IP: Logged |

I am also very overweight and desperate to lose it. I have also had a friend who went to a hypnotist for smoking and it worked for about a year and then something stressful happened and he started back up again.I have been involved in group hypnotism for entertainment purposed and was not able to be hypnotized. So I dont think it would work for me. If you try it let us know if it works. Ive just started trying that trimspa stuff and I think its working. I lost 6 pounds this week! IP: Logged |

Apparently only something like 17% of people can be effectively hypnotised. This reminds me about some truth of hypnotism hidden in Star wars.... ------------------ "And dreams, don't ever forget, are the first step in manifesting wishes into reality"-- Linda Goodman's Star Signs IP: Logged |
