Does anyone, "one day a week, take into ' his/her ' body, ONLY juices of fruits ", and then, " three days, the last week of the month " - regardless of what he/she does in the giant weekends in between ? How did you do it ? I want to find out for myself why I still can't do it after fourteen years !? thanks for telling.

G'Day Rahbar Welcome

I do the once a week juice fast... have been for a while. I don't know what makes it difficult for you to fast, but for me, it was extremely difficult to start...
I guess being a taurus i like my food too much - so starting on a vego, fasting, mostly veg and fruit diet was really big step for me.

I guess all i can offer is you REALLY give it a go - with all the love in your heart helping you, and don't give up - because when you give up it makes it twice as hard!

All the very best - and GOOD LUCK

I did a two-day-a-month fruit fast regularly for six months. Nothing except fruits to enter your body for 48 hours. Feels really good.
This juice fast sounds fun. I should try it. I was wondering, Nebel ... is honey okay?

G'Day aquamoon
The eating of honey is quite a deliberated subject for me
Firstly, I think eating honey is bad because in order to obtain honey quite a few bees are killed... but this is from a vegetarian point of view…
From a health point of view honey = sugar and we all know how bad sugar is…
Honey however is an alkaline forming food (i.e. good for the body) – but then again is bad whilst cleansing…
Lastly, honey is a natural product – unlike sugar which is overly processed…

Seems I may have raised more questions than I have answered!

What are the benefits of fruit fasting once a week?

Maybe I'll start doing that. I'll try anything!

G'Day Nebel
Dammit, I'm vegetarian too. Now you've gone and made me wonder about honey! I LOVE HONEY!!! More than Pooh!

Amber, the fast is to give your body a chance to tend to other things than when it's busy digesting your food, like repairing and strengthening tissues etc. Fruit is so easy to digest that it doesn't create a strain on the body and keep it from doing all the other stuff, plus you're getting all the nutrients, roughage and water of fresh fruit which helps cleanse toxins from your body.

Rahbar, are you going to try the juice fast??

Hmm Nebel, maybe I'll give the apple juice a go. Thanx!
Amber, you're going to do Fridays and Saturdays, or just Fridays?

I haven't been able to do a one day fruit fast. My system is too out of balance. I have hypoglycemia. (Low blood sugar/opposite of diabetes) I am supposed to eat protien at every meal or snack(it doesn't have to be animal protien, thank goodness). If I don't, weird things happen- dizziness, emotional upheaval, shakiness, sweating(ew),etc.
I am only in my first five years toward becoming a vegetarian. I am hoping that my body will get the hint and start cooperating.

Hypoglycemics can benefit by taking chromium picolinate. It works very well for most.

Welcome, Sagaquari!

I'm sure your body will get used to a veggie diet soon enough. It's good you chose to do it the slow, steady way. I just woke up one fine morning and decided I didn't want to eat meat anymore. I don't think it's made a difference, my body didn't seem to go into shock or anything, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else, seeing how Linda was so vehement about doing it the right way. That's just the way I do most stuff.
