Help guys!! 64 days in the slammer and I gained some pretty hefty pounds. OK not really that bad but I can't fit into a lot of old clothes. I got a new job and start next week. I know I can't lose the weight that fast, but I would LOVE some tips, please. I DO eat meat, so should I eat a high protein, low carb diet?? Or are carbs ok now? Please help, I've been jogging in place for a half hour four or five days a week. I'm still on the electric moniter so any excercise has to be in my parents library, er, house. (that was supposed to be funny!) And now there are no egg bagels calling me, but nice squishy rolls that long to be spread with butter, haha. OK obviously I'm getting off on the wrong foot. As you can see I need help! Thanks y'all! ------------------ Namaste! IP: Logged |

Hi Fajita,I am doing a (mostly) high protein diet too, sticking with low-fat protein options like chicken breast, legumes (nuts, yay!), cottage cheese, and hard boiled eggs. I've lost more weight doing this than being vegetarian for 6 months & working out regularly at the gym. Carbohydrates are yummy and I love them in low moderation. I just avoid the highly processed types, like desserts or anything deep fried. Good luck! A. IP: Logged |

The main culprit in America is high fructose corn syrup. It makes one's metabolism sluggish. We add the stuff to many foods (ketchup, candy, and soft drinks, especially). The weight loss is slow at first, but if you keep your diet free of it, the pounds tend to melt off after a while. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." d I found out this week that I lost 10 lbs since this time last year, the bulk of which came off this summer. I've added so many portions of fruits and veggies to my diet, and it helps to remember that sometimes when we THINK we're hungry, our bodies are really thirsty. So grab some water during your next hunger fit. I'm also staying away from the deep fried stuff...basically just using smarter portions. The Weight Watchers points help too. Ok, so the fried pierogies Scorp. ordered last night didn't help, but I did use applesauce instead of sour cream. See what I mean? It can be done! My friends mentioned something very helpful the other night as we dined on Vegan food...remember this: "What you eat in private is what you wear in public." IP: Logged |

I am reading a book of recipes of Elvis's fave foods. Double yum! I'm being pretty good though, just tasting it in my mind.------------------ Namaste! IP: Logged |
