I assume that by now you people are already aware of the fact that meat contains heavy amounts of anti-biotics and various types of hormone, owing to the method used for factory farming. Do you fancy the idea of eating anti-biotics and hormone everyday? So some of you think that fish are healthier than red meat and fowl. WRONG. Thanks to pollution, all the world's ocean have been contaminated with toxic chemicals and POPs (persistent organic pollutants) which are now part of many food chains. In particular, mercury is found in many fishes. Mercury is a poison known to affect the kidneys and central nervous systems, can seriously harm the health of pregnant or breastfeeding women (as well as the rest of us) and is associated with severe heart dis-eases and infertility. How can you poison your own body for another five years with such lethal chemicals? You've got to quit flesh NOW. Now or too late. What you do unto animals and the environment, you do unto yourself. (The above has been largely based on 'veggiehealth', Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation, the health charity, Bristol, England, UK) ------------------ Dana IP: Logged |

Combine that info. with the chicken flu virus and Mad Cow disease in Washington state and you might want to think twice about what you are eating.IP: Logged |

Yes, and thank god for the FDA warning to women so that when kids end up with autism, we can blame it on Mommy instead of vaccines.Yes, thats sarcasm, sorry.....I am feeling disgusted by how we are polluting the Earth, to the point of where we can't eat ANYTHING. IP: Logged |

That is very stressful Dana, since I have become a vegetarian, including those reasons, I still thought fish ok to eat, I was wrong, makes me sick to know what we are eating. Its very discusting, and alot of people are ignorant of what they are really eating, meat and fish comes neatly packaged from you meat section in your supermarket, presented lovely with different flavors--looks so harmless, yet in reality its making everyone sick. There are vitamins that you can take to get rid of the mercury in your body. But if you want good fish or red meat, then grow it yourself. Then you know what the animals are eating.

Why eating meat and fish when you can live healthily on a balanced plant-based diet? Why eating creatures which are made of flesh, blood and bones (I know, I know, plants can feel and breathe too)? And mercury is not to be joked about. ------------------ Dana IP: Logged |
