Hi dears, The appt we stay has an indoor swimming pool and i cant wait to swimm.. But i have pushed it aside for some time just thinking abt the after effects it seems to have on me. My skin gets tanned and looks like i am wearing a darkbrown coloured coat .this happened twice when i used to swim in india. Now i am at melbourne and dono if its going to be anotehr repetition Any inputs or info regarding anti tan lotions or precautions to take while swimming would be greatly appreciated really :x I am also wanting to shape up so wantto tone up by swimming -a relaxing an safe execrcise according to me...except for teh reprucussiosn it seems to have. alas i dont have a white skin but fair complexion as per indian standards IP: Logged |

Hi jani_jean,It is possible that you are sensative to one or more of the pool additives. Could be that India has different chemicals than Australia. Try one swim, and see what happens. If the same happens you may be allergic to chlorine type chems. You could ask a dermatologist. Jani_jean,You could also try using Sunblock - the higher the SPF (Sun Protection Factor), the better (we get up to SPF-45 or SPF-50 here in the US). It not only protects you from harmful UVA/UVB rays, it might also keep you from tanning a whole lot. Don't forget to get the waterproof kind & reapply as needed! Sunshine IP: Logged |
