Somewhere in the older forums i read about orange oil- Purchased some yesterday evening $3.45 American for 1 oz. I have applied it lightly several times with no additives. My skin seems to crave it. I looked in the mirror, and can see a difference already. It is Mon. 2:16 pm CST USA. I can actually feel my face, and neck lifting and tightening subtly. I AM a crone, not a maiden, so if this is already working on me, i recommend it...Citrus sinensis sweet orange. Perhaps there is another kind? i like this, i do believe, i do believe, i do believe...tuxedo meow------------------

Thanks tuxedo!!!We were taught at aromatherapy college never to apply citrus oils direct to the skin....always dilute in a carreir oil....but if it works for you.....GREAT !!!! I am gona rush out and buy some. At the moment I am using lavender and sandalwood in a light night cream and now I shall add large amounts of orange... Thanks again !!!!! IP: Logged |

I used to add one drop of orange oil to a cup of cold rosehip tea and use it as a toner. I always got compliments on my skin! The orange makes it really soft. Just be careful with citrus applied to the skin, as it makes it photosensitive. I recommend using an SPF 30 sunscreen! IP: Logged |

Well, this 30-something chick is going to check that out! Where did you purchase it? In person, I still get away with most people assuming I am late 20s and want to keep it that way. btw, Tuxedo, you were born the same year as my mom. (I read that in the.....am i too old for LL thread). I still think of her as VERY young and she looks amazing. No one would guess her to be out of her 40s and everyone thinks we are sisters, which she loves because she is so vain (just kidding!). IP: Logged |

There are studies that now suggest that sunscreens cause the sort of aging to skin that they are meant to prevent. Careful on the sunscreens, unless you are sunbathing.I make my own nightime moisturizer, out of a base of organic virgin coconut oil, with about 60 drops of organic orange oil and the same amount of organic vitamin E. This lasts for many months. ------------------ Everything feels possible. Perhaps more is possible than we think. -P.H. IP: Logged |

My skin has been over exposed to the sun. I live on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, work with endangered sea turtles and dolphins, and must have severe damage- The orange oil when applied directly to more sensitive (less sun exposed) areas of my skin burned to the point I stood in the shower soaping the areas. My face and hands are only reacting in a delighted way. First, I noticed the area ABOVE my face was brighter-not my skin but an area from the dermis itself out about 1/4" or so. There was no "burning" feeling just a pleasantness. I'm not sure what day I started this post, but a lot of changes are able to be seen. Wrinkles are present but softer appearing, skin is soft to the touch, blemish-y spotty areas are evening out. Sun damaged skin is thick skin like the skin on my face and hands. This orange oil might be "burning" through this thickness which is why this oil is safe for me but perhaps not for you! Do not burn yours-elf. I amusing this oil without dilution or mix several times a day. It seems to be rapidly absorbed as the skin neither looks or feels oily. Thank you for sharing, please continue. from no-age tuxedo meow!IP: Logged |

Thanks for the tips, tux and trillian, sue and GL75!! I have psoriasis and I'm always looking for ways to soften the rough patches on my hands and feet. Several years ago I started using a soap called "Bar of Oranges" on my face and body in the shower. Contains: natural orange oil saponified vegetable oils glycerine purified water honey cocoa butter lecithin aloe vera extract vitamin E certified food colorsWhatever is responsible, I'm so pleased with how soft and supple my skin feels!! Sometimes I just sit and rub my own face because it feels so smooth and silky OrangeGlo and GoGlo have discontinued it but there's still some available out there (I've stocked up)..... here's one site: http://www.seenontvcentral.com/hwboo-36.html IP: Logged |
