If so, i think it's time we provide support for one another. What lifestyle nutrition choices work(ed) for you? I'm starting a diet this week of Salad and Cereal. I'm posting this because it is a good incentive for me to stick to it. I don't know what the outcome will be, but I'm hoping any knowledge shared will help someone who's having a difficult relationship with their weight. Thanks! IP: Logged |

Hey Starr33! Yup - I'm on a diet and have been since I got ill in April. I've lost about a stone and a half since April 14th and I'd like to lose a couple more, I think. However, they say that the weight gain just falls off at first and then plateaus somewhat, so I'm gonna have to work even harder to keep it off now!!! My diet sounds quite similar to yours actually. I'm basically just eating: cereal, fruit, soup, fish and veg!!! I've cut out all red meat (but chicken and fish are okay), all bread and heavy carbs (I'll occasionally have brown rice or noodles) and alcohol!!! Chucking the alcohol has really helped! (Although I did get drunk as a one off on my birthday last month!!!) Exercise wise, I'm a gym member and I walk everywhere, as I don't drive. I walk at least 4(ish) miles dropping my son to and from school everyday (twice there and twice back home, a mile each way - it's a trek!!!). And that's not including the walk to the supermarket either!!! Good luck with yours and sorry about the long post! Hope everything goes well for you. The only tip I can think of, is not to make yourself eat things you don't like just because it's "healthy". I made a list of all the healthy stuff I did and didn't like and I'm only eating the stuff I actually enjoy, so that I'm not tempted to slip up. Luckily for me, my diet has always been reasonably healthy - it was the portion sizes that were the problem!!! All the best starr! xxx IP: Logged |

I am on a no-sugar, no-salt, no-wheat, no cows' milk diet. Plus no alcohol or coffee etc. Works a treat for streamlining inner thighs, but you have to do it for at least a month to see AMAZING improvement to your skin/body toning. Hope this helps, Love, Xena IP: Logged |

My brother's quick fix bikini diet is to give up beer for a couple of weeks. He will lose about 7 pounds. Sugary snacks are my failing. So I don't buy many to keep in the house ~ I'll only eat them, after all that's what they're for ... IP: Logged |

Xena - I already don't do coffee and alcohol, nor sugar, but I am vegetarian - so would you recommend your diet for me (as a vegetarian)... because other than fruit and vegetables, I drink milk and I eat wheat. The sound of streamlined thighs caught my attention. IP: Logged |

I eat wholegrains (NOT flaked grains), vegetables, seeds, nuts and nut butters, goat's milk, and raw and cooked vegetables. I don't know whether you eat fish, but I also eat fish and lean meat. I always eat everything grilled or boiled, never baked or fried. I don't know whether soya would be a viable alternative for you? Drinks amount to herbal teas. Tiger nuts are a great snack, they are naturally sweet but woody and low in calories, and you probably won't tend to eat as many of them as you eat ordinary nuts, as you need to chew them more. Hope this helps! Love, Xena IP: Logged |

You guys are great! Thanks for responding to my post. I'm still going strong with the exception of this past weekend when I shared a piece of peanut butter pie with my boy friend. I thought since I've been eating like a diabetic for a week, one indulgence wouldn't cause too much damage. Does anyone have any low-cal salad dressing recipes you'd care to share. I will be posting some of my favorite salad dishes later on this week. Until then, take care. IP: Logged |

Let's see. Last night I made a salad of medium shrimp stir fried with extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, string beans, cauliflower, paprika, sea-salt, thyme, and a cup of organic vegetable broth. I let it simmer on medium heat for 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, I prepared the lettuce and cucumbers-the lettuce is pre-packaged because I just don't have the inclination to deal with a head of lettuce anymore. When the mixture was ready, I squeezed fresh lemon juice on it and used salad tongs to toss everything together. IP: Logged |

Xena, Your right about amazing results. I gave up sugar, dairy and salt for a couple of months and not only does it streamline your thighs, but omg! it whittles your waist away.

I already don't eat salt and I already eat wholegrains... but I'm attempting to cut down sugar as much as possible and cut down coffee. Started drinking green tea twice a day and upping my fruit intake. Basically I'm not overweight and I'm generally happy with my body, but my thighs could do with a trim-down! IP: Logged |

No sugar, dairy or salt. It sounds good, but what do you replace them with? I just don't want a tasteless diet, because I'm afraid of binging. I still eat my salads every day, but I think I'll scale down on the cereal-too much sugar. I had to switch from regular to no-lactose milk that costs anywhere from 4-6 dollars a gallon. Ouch. Fresh herbs for flavour! And they have the added bonus of being *healthy* too. Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme... lol... don't forget basil. Dried herbs have more concentrated flavour and they keep for ages. With the fresh herbs, parsley is especially good for cleansing the blood and reducing fluid retention. Cayenne pepper is also excellent for flavour and it's helpful for circulation. I've been salt-free for years and have never wanted to add salt since I discovered all these herbs! And if you really crave sweetness, you can add Stevia. It's completely natural and it's actually good for you. And you can replace the cereal with rolled oats. It's way healthier, a whole grain, is good for your digestive system, and it's very low in calories. You could add some low fat yoghurt and fresh fruit if oats are too boring on their own. Thank you, Gem for the tips! I have to be careful with low-fat yogurt, though. I checked out some low-fat ones and I couldn't believe the sugar content. One contained 27g. I almost sh!t myself. That's more than two nutrigrain bars! IP: Logged |

Oh I should have mentioned, get the unsweetened kind! You could always add a little stevia to it if you really need the sweetness, but personally I think unsweetened is nicer anyway.IP: Logged |

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I was doing well until I had to take antibiotics for a UTI. I really had to eat when taking them to prevent stomach upset, so I gained back five of the seven pounds I lost. I begin again on Monday, and will make sure I drink enough water this time. How about you? IP: Logged |

I have started using Herbalife products and lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks. My friend lost 40 lbs in 3 months using Herbalife. And it's easy since I don't care to cook. It tastes good and even satisfies my sweet tooth. My blood sugars have stabilized from it too as I am a diabetic.IP: Logged |
