Hi all~This disease is gaining a stronger foothold in American society. I wish Linda had written a book on diabetic dieting for the signs as she was diabetic. I know of Linda's book "Star Signs" and that's not what I'm looking for.

I ask because my mom has had type 2 for several years now but finds it nearly impossible to follow the diet most doctors prescribe. Her numbers are still high and she hasn't lost any weight, so she gets frustrated and eats the very things she is not suppose to eat. I am practically a carbon copy of my mom and noticed this year all the weight gain around my midsection (up 5 sizes!). Being out of work for a year and having a lower back injury have not helped my situation any. I can't even ride a stationary bike for 5 minutes without my feet and toes going numb.

She's Virgo Sun/Cap Moon
I'm Scorp Sun/Pisces Moon

Thanks, in advance, for any and all help.

Here is something you should do some research on as you sound very similar to me.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

this is one of the most overlooked issues in women.

The weight gain in your midsection is what triggers me to ask you to do some research on it to see if it sounds like something you should ask your doctor about. The weight gain in th midsection is an indicator of Insulin Resistance. Excess insulin is stored in the midsection (the most notable is the "beer Belly". Maltose is the worst form of sugar. which is the sugar in Beer. So you drink a whole bunch o' beers, your body can only use so much insulin, the rest is stored in yourmidsection)

Insuline resistance is a side effect of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. This is when your body doesn't use the insulin it produces.

I have had it since i was in puberty. i was a really thin kid and once i hit puberty, i got a little belly. The army's boot camp made me so fit and doin' all the sit ups i did in that time, i still didn't have a flat stomach.

I hope this isn't an underlying issue. There is a simple bllood test, i beleive its test your ACL levels to diagnos it.

There is no cure... but they have ways to treat it now.

Have you had regulat periods? that's another indicator.. if you have irregular ones.

Just some info, i would look into it. if your doctor doesn't know anything about if. I would ask them to do that test for it so you can at least rule it out. I'm 36 and i wasn't diagnosed with it until i was 30. There are alot more doctors now that are familiar and knowledgable about it.

Aloha Spry,

Check out Gabriel Cousens's book "There is a Cure for Diabetes." Also, you can follow the link in the "Breatharian(s) mentioned in Raw Video" thread that was just posted.

Blessings and good luck on your journey toward optimal health,

~tlc~
