Hello! I've been dating this guy for like 3 months now and i wanted an input about our charts compability. I have a strong Gemini focus and he has almost all of his planets in Capricorn, so in theory not enough compability between those signs, thas why i say "an unliky match". However, i find we are kinda alike, probably because of Uranus and Saturn prominence in both charts i guess. We were evolving well but then we are kinda in a stalemate of sorts now. He had a abusive relationship during his Saturn Return last year and and soon Saturn will hit his venus, maybe it's not a good time for a commitement? Anyway, i wanted an input to see if we have enough "glue" to pass hardships or is this more of a flick thing. We are both closed off, so it's hard to know what is really happening..

Some of synastry contacts:

Theres a bunch of House 1 and House 2 overlays both ways (and some trines to MC both ways)
Sun trine Sun
Mars opposed Moon (WH)
His Mars conjuncts my ASC+Uranus
My Saturn at his 7th house
His Jupiter at my 7th House
His Ceres is conjuct my Moon+Chiron
My node square his Moon
My Venus square his node
My Venus squares his Vertex and my Vertex squares his Sun

My Pluto square his Sun
My Venus opposite his Pluto
My Jupiter squares his Saturn
Mercury opposite Mars(WH)
Mars opposite Uranus (WH)
My ASC quincunx (inconjuct) his ASC
My Moon quincunx his Saturn
My Mars quincunx his Sun (and conjuncts his Jupiter)

Synastry (i'm Inner, He's outer chart)

I think his Mars on your Ascendant may feel very enlivening but the Mars/Moon opposition between your charts may not help you feel safe or at rest with him. Your Mars and his Venus are in opposing signs, so he may not be open to how you express love/interest which may frustrating for you and the opposite of encouraging for you to continue to invest in trying to develop your communication further. Hope this is helpful & resonates

thanks, livvywatermonkey

yes, it resonates. Do you think my MArs (which conjucts his Jupiter, btw) and his venus in opposite signs can be felt even without an aspect formed?

Sun trine sun is always a nice aspect I find, I have it with quite a few friends. You feel very alike in the way you move around the world.

If I had to say judging from the chart I would imagine this to be a relationship that is quite challenging but of course no relationship is perfect.

My gut feeling is that this may not be the best relationship for you both in terms of your inner emotional needs. It may not be the healing relationship your partner needs after his troubled SR. But I will say this certainly speaks of a relationship with a lot of “spark” and you may very well find some good lessons here regarding each other’s outlooks and the such.

I’m afraid I don’t see this lasting as a long term connection but it sounds like you have some doubts already anyway?

Astrology of course isn’t everything and plenty of relationships last very well without “stellar” charts. And vise versa of course.

roseblue,

Do you say this because of Mars-opposite-Moon WH? Or Moons in inconjunct signs?

I think he is fearful of real intimacy (even before his Saturn Return thing) and i am triggering some of his buttons. It has just started a series of impactful transits and progressions on his natal venus. Maybe my function will be more of a catalyst. It's a shame coz i like him, but that's the way of life.

Out of curiosity (for learning), what aspects would you add to make this synastry "better"? Or what does it lack?
