This person could potentially be my PhD supervisor next year. Working in close proximity with another academic can make or break someone's doctorate trajectory, and in the past we have worked together successfully (though it was much lower stakes)

Do you see a high probability for conflict/power plays here?

Thank you!

with Jupiter conjunct the node, the first impression is that this would work very well as this implies the support of an authority figure.

but Neptune's square to Jupiter and node which is a bit troubling as it can show unseen agenda. if the doctorate is in very creative field then this aspect might not have quite the potential for misunderstanding.
Jupiter is inconjunct to juno which can indicate a close working relationship but the midpoint is opposed to Uranus and conjunct to chiron. Uranus bodes arguments though chiron would bode brilliant and analytical meeting of minds.

Priapus square to Venus does give e some concerns as it might show a personal attraction underneath the academic relationship. This is not necessarily negative but a personal interest could influence the academic rigor. I guess it depends if it is a two way street.

Saturn square the vertex also seems two edged. it can show stubbornness and control dynamic or I overly structured influence .

the eros/psyche midpoint is square to ceres which again brings a emotional attraction into the relationship .ceres coud be very supportive but again personal emotional over tones might deflect concentration on the doctorate itself.

mars conjunct to Lilith and square to the Jupiter/pallas midpoint makes me wondered further if he migt have some not so latent emotional attraction to you.again if it is mutual, then it probably is not troubling but if it is one way then latent jealously might influence professional decisions.

with the grand trine of mercury/venus trine to juno and Neptune with pluto opposed to mercury/venus, one would aspect this pattern to assuage any emotional complications.
though chiron is square to psyche and the midpoint is opposed to pluto.chiron ca bring a emotion;al "quirkiness" into play and opposed to pluto there is a possibility of some darker absive emotional reaction if expectations were not met or expectations were inflated to begin with.

as I recall you have an energy about you that can sweep people off their feet so,you must consider how an intimate relationship educationally might affect this man.

I can't really get clear reading here as the emotional connection is not clear to me.

Wow okay, thank you so much for this response Todd.

We are very close in age (6 years apart) but he is married and I am in a relationship so my mind wasn't really going there as far as chemistry was concerned, so you informing me of this in advance is definitely good to know!

It is a humanities field! Creativity is very much a given here, if it was STEM I'm sure it would be a different story

Fascinating! I think that the environment itself is very structured, lending to a sense of control that it inevitable for any graduate student and their PhD supervisor.. in the past he and I may not have always agreed but I recognized it as respectful and inevitably conductive towards my growth as an academic.. but yeah he does have some control freak tendencies, though I feel understanding towards them

Very interesting insight here about professional jealousy.. I will very much keep this in mind and be on a look out for it

This insight is particularly shocking I must say.. I might have to reconsider this venture. Or maybe just think about it a little more now that you've pointed this out

Thank you so much! Invaluable stuff here Todd, truly

Actually I have to ask - Todd, what do you think of both of our name asteroids being exactly conjunct Ceres in the composite? I didn't upload in the original post but I just checked right now

hi athenaia

I have been thinklng about this composite as something just does seem right.

I think it is the juno/Jupiter midpoint opposed to Uranus. the more I thought about the more it seems like an indications that there will be large difference.

reading that your asteroids are conjuct to ceres also seems out of place. this is a professional assignment but the Eros/psyche midpoint is square to ceres and your named asteroids.

it is very difficult to not to see a emotional connection here.
this pattern implies your both have a deep sense of support for the other. and with eros/psyche involved it has a very child/like emotional attraction.

my experience is that ceres can be very nurturing and supportive but ceres also have a hard side that does not respond to emotional disappointment well.

this composite seems to be sprinkled with emotional eyelets.the professional side doesn't seem straight forward either.

the asteroid conjunct has pushed me over to the side that this chart will lead away from a harmonious professional orientation.

I just see deeper emotional interest between the two of you...maybe not consciously.

it would be wise to look at his chart to try to ascertain whether all is well on the home front
