I am wondering what synastry aspects show that a couple who loves one another or starts off with good feelings ends up completely hating each other or has a bad break up?

Hate is love disappointed. The opposite of Love is NOT Hate(contrary to popular belief) .

When you "hate", your attenion is still focused on the person and all your thoughts are consumed by them. Doesn't that sound a lot like "love"?

The opposite of love is indifference. Not treating them as if they don't exist. But seeing that they exist in life but not in your thoughts.Or your world.

These placements produce love/hate obsessions either in synastry or in the individual natal charts respectively.

Mars/Pluto in 7th.
Aries/Scorpio planets in 7th.

The capacity to go to extremes must also be there inherently with each person -perhaps Mars/Pluto in 4th or 5th? Or Scorpio/Aries there.

Oppositions between Venus and Mars produce the "I hate that I love you" vibe. Especially when in the signs of Ari/Libra or Taurus/Scorpio.

Thank you Aries for the reply! Makes sense about hate being love or a “flipped coin” so to say. What about if there is no love established yet? I was in the beginning of dating someone (couple months in) and had this feeling of hate slowly creeping in. I know that sounds weird haha and it’s not even like I hated him more just like I had the feeling we’d end up hating each other or there was potential for pretty bad fights. Not sure if that means there’s potential for love as well? He has his mars opposite my sun/moon and we have our mars’ squared. Maybe those aspects are just playing out that way.

I think Mars square sun can certainly contribute but throw in a little Pluto opposite Venus and you have some good love you/hate you energy going on. Frankly, I think that Pluto is just operating in its lowest form to mask the feelings of hurt and/or loss. It's the 'Scorpio-ness' everyone hates to experience.

Astrology aside as it's only a symbolic language of consciousness, where it usually stems from is other life connections where there was a lot of intense emotions felt and exchanged between two people and where one or both of the partners really hurt the other. But at the same time there had been very strong attachment.

The astrology then, only reflects what had existed in the relative past.

With these kind of karmic connections, there is often intense attraction at first--that is your Expanded selves ways of getting you two together to begin with, so that you can work on either lessons, karmic redressing, or general growth patterns. Otherwise, we would never get with individuals we had this kind of past with, because unconsciously we sense/know what has taken place and what is likely to take place in the future.

Astrologically, strong and tense Mars, Saturn, and Pluto aspects are often involved. Also a lot of strong squares and oppositions in general with a lack of trines or conjunctions between more "soft" Planets (like Venus Moon) to help indicate easing of the tension.

Mars squares can do that. It's the first thing that popped into my head.

If there is enough other positive things happening, the effects of that aspect can be offset. You can also use your knowledge of astrology towards a better understanding of their Mars sign, and accept that it is what it is and find a way to work around it. I think that is the key to embracing a square aspect anyway (as tough as it may be sometimes).

In this instance it felt more like “mars” hate as opposed to “pluto” hate if that makes sense lol. But didn’t really think about the Pluto aspects we had. Actually it could be Pluto because in composite we have sun/Venus/Pluto/Ceres conjunction in Scorpio and moon conjunct Jupiter so could have that love/ hate thing going on.

If there is a thing of past lives I can definitely see us having one. We have a lot of karmic aspects - my Venus/ASC square his Saturn. My nodes square his Saturn. My Saturn conjunct his Sun. His Venus wide conjunct my north node and Desc. His Pluto conjunct my IC and Saturn and Moon close to Ic but a few degrees away in 4th house. My mars conjunct his Chiron. And my Uranus (ruler of my Desc and north node) conjunct his south node. We definitely have a heavier synastry with a bit more difficult aspects than easy so this could simply be the reason. But like I said it’s not like we don’t get along it’s just a looming feeling.

Yeah I think it is the mars squares especially because it creates a T-square in my chart (his mars square my mars and opposite my sun/moon). But I should be used to this energy because my own mars square my sun/moon? Maybe it triggers it in a bad way. The good thing is that my mars almost trine his sun so maybe there is more understanding there.
