Like if you have a hard aspect between Mars and Saturn in synastry. But you have soft Mars/Jupiter aspects double whammy?

I have a Mars conjuct Saturn with my sister where I’m the Mars. She’s my best friend and I’m hers. There’s zero element of controlling aspects either way. We bicker but can’t stay mad at each other for more than a few hours. Well come back laughing. We get along better than anyone else in my life-friends/boyfriends/other relatives

I’ve seen people point out a square between mom/daughter equals the same negative relationship but that’s not always the case either. I have a difficult relationship with my mom and we only have positive Saturn contacts. No mars or negative aspects to mars to be found.

I’ve seen a few people mention then square being horrible but the others saying it could be positive if you don’t have it natally. Neither I or my sister have this aspect in our natal charts. I’m not for the “this aspect always equals bad” mentality because it’s certainly not true and you can see from the above. Astrology isn’t one size fits all and I don’t think people should force it to be either. Astrology is energy and energy doesn’t always have to be negative

I would suggest you take a look at your own and your partners natal Mars/Saturn.

I’m mars in the scenario with my sisters and with past friends who I’ve shared the square and the conjunction with. When Saturn and Mars oppose, conjuct or square it very much matters how you respond to these energies. If you have relatively unaspected (or harmonious) aspects to your own natal charts then this aspect will be less of an issue in your relationship. If you or your partner have an aspected Saturn or mars in your natal chart than you know where the negative energy could arise from.

In my charts my mars opp Pluto. I also have many additional harsh mars aspects. I have a few mental health issues that really affected my relationships with others. I was very combative and defensive, for a while it made me hard to get along with. I went to therapy and now it’s a non issue. The energy between the conjunction I have with my sister is now free flowing and we get the positive benefits.

If you or your partners Saturn is afflicted in natal, it could mean your quick to judge, criticize, Or controlling/abusing behaviors. That could be where the negative energy comes from in a relationship.

The only way these aspects really spell doom is if you are the afflicted mars and you refuse to change (you your partner may grow tired of your outbursts over time and can lead to resentment) or you are the afflicted Saturn and you refuse to change (your partner may grow tired of you being quick to critique and control everything they do. This could lead to abuse and serious hate). If on the other end your partner is the one with afflicted mars/Saturn they have to change and be WILLING to put in the work to do so. You can only really work on your own energy. You cant force change on someone else.

Thank you for your input I don't have Mars/Saturn in my own chart. I have Mars square Saturn with my dad. And I find him controlling I don't like it. But one positive thing is that he never gave up on teaching me how to drive. I have the opposition is synastry with someone and I'm the Saturn person the orb is 7 degrees. I don't think I'm restrictive maybe a little controlling. But that could be because my Saturn is in their 1st house. They have the biquintile between Mars and Saturn in their own chart. I've read that Mars/Saturn is usually seen in marriages.
