I lurk over on Reddit under various astrology threads, and I heard that for Composite charts, you don't want anything in the 6th/8th/12th house otherwise the relationship won't last. Additionally, they said you don't want any mutable signs in the top 3 (rising, sun, moon I presume?) for the composite chart either.

When I'd asked them specifically, what if there are positive aspects in the composite (e.g. Sun/Merc/Venus all conjunct) they told me it doesn't matter if the chart has any of the above paragraph.

Now I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to synastry and astrology, but I can't help but think that's a little extreme. I guess I'm wondering if anyone on here has insight for if this really is the case for composite charts and why? Are those placements really that bad?

I wouldn't say you can't have anything in those houses at all (specifically 6/12) but if the chart is heavy on these houses you have to be cautious as it shows an unbalanced relationship.

Relationship is about equal give & take. Although we're taught not to be calculative but it's unhealthy if one person keeps giving and other one takes and takes. It could also be one party becomes obligated to take care of the other one. Often times the people in such relationships don't see it this way although it's obvious to outsiders.

The mind boggling thing is such relationships can drag on for a long time, co-depending on each other.
