The Composite stellium with the Venus/Mars midpoint conjunct Sun looks very strong for romance and mutually "falling in love"! Moreover, Venus is square Pluto and the Jupiter/Moon midpoint is conjunct Chiron, so there is a lot of intensity and chemistry at intimate and emotional level.
Longing for each other can be powerful.
Saturn conjunct Vertex may carry a karmic dimension to this meeting, and with the nodes square to the Uranus/Neptune midpoint there may be a soulmate and mind connection/feeling. This is also a trait of instability though carrying insecurity about the direction of the relationship, maybe this is why you may have doubts.
I think you can trust him since his feelings are likely sincere. Maybe there's some difficulty/insecurity in getting off the ground at committment level.
Transiting Jupiter is conjunct to the Composite stellium/Sun, so I believe you're going to have developments but slowly cause transiting Saturn is square to Comp. Pluto and may block the situation for a few weeks.

The Eros/Psyche midpoint is square Vertex, so again there is a very strong otherworldly trait/soulmates feelings. But the Juno/Jupiter midpoint is conjunct to the Mars/Saturn midpoint and Psyche is square to the Saturn/Chiron opposition. This is unfortunately not a good sign 'cause it may suggest an underlying toxic trait linked to the sexual sphere, in any case it may point to the man ruling/controlling the relationship but at the same time they may not be reliable on the committment/long term plane, cause of the Juno/Jupiter mp conjunct to Mars/Saturn. It all looks a bit weird cause the otherworldly dimension comes together with a possible unattainable side but at the same time there are underlying sexual desires looking overwhelming, maybe suppressed (?) but carrying some kind of power control.
The Moon/Jupiter midpoint is conjunct Chiron opposite Saturn and square Psyche, so there may be a potential underlying emotional abusive trait in this relationship.

So I went to check his natal chart... he has Sun/Saturn opposite Chiron in Cancer, and his Mars is square to MC and widely square to Neptune. It seems he has difficulties in exposing himself at emotional level, he tends to withdraw and may have strong insecurities in committment matters. There may be a lack of emotional "structure" from his childhood... with Mars on his DSC square to MC/Neptune he's likely not reliable in serious relationships. But Mars on DSC may also suggest a strong sexual nature of his relationships and there may be escapism when it comes to serious committment. But since he has Sun/Saturn opposite Chiron, it can also show a dominant side to establish their self-assertiveness.
