Or do these aspects really spell doom for the relationship in the composite chart. It seems whenever I research these aspects there’s never a good outcome. IP: Logged

Not sure about the square but squares have a different feel to them than oppositions in my experience. It's wonderful, but requires a lot of maturity, that's mainly the point. Saturn requires it, Venus can sometimes be avoidant by nature. If willing to do the work on YOURSELF (Saturn is still very personal) it can be extremely rewarding. Saturn contacts, especially squares, can feel like you can SEE the growth happening between you two in real time. Whereas with easier connections (trine, sextile, etc) can sometimes have it fly by/happen without noticing. And Saturn contacts of all kinds create longevity -- though not always pleasant. I've experienced squares that were one-sided that ended poorly yet the energy lingers on. The double connection seems MUCH smoother, but being closer in age also helps a lot.
