can someone please explain midpoints and whether they are relevant in synastry?Which midpoints apart from sun/moon are mostly relevant? And do midpoints to midpoints count for anything? Also what orbs do you use?

Venus/Mars point is good for relationship. Also look at things like Mars/Saturn or Mars/Pluto for scary stuff. :OIP: Logged |

MARS/SATURN and MARS/PLUTO don't have to be 'scary'. But the VENUS/MARS can be a good one. Seems better in theory than actuality, though. SUN/MOON tends to be a strong point for everyone. Look into Michael Munkasey's work. IP: Logged |

Thanks Aubyanne, I've never heard of him so I'll look him up.Yeah, agree about sun/moon midpoint. And I don't know how strongly felt Mars/Venus point. I think personal planets on angle etc feels stronger than midpoints. IP: Logged |

I think you can use any midpoint you want if the astrobodies used are significant in your chart study and if the mix of the two energies makes sense to you and your situation. For instance, you can use the midpoint of two complementary of soulmate astrobodies : SUN/MOON (most famous, and definitely strong), or EROS/PSYCHE, ISIS/OSIRIS, etc. VENUS/MARS -- I'm not sure whether it actually carries weight, as I've used it only once.My VENUS/MARS midpoint is conjunct his SUN, 0°52'. ... Explains a lot. IP: Logged |
