In my chart Venus at 29 Sagittarius is opposite Jupiter at 00 Cancer. They are still opposite in nature just in a different way then Sagittarius/Gemini. Cancer loves to surround itself with the safe and familiar, and craves security. Sagittarius loves freedom, and delights in exploring new things. Sagittarius and Cancer simply have contrasting traits in a different context then Sag/Gem, so there's still this weird sense of complimentary energies meeting each other to out-of-sign oppositions. Each can still bring something the other does not have to the table...

Oh and by the way, I totally feel my Venus/Jupiter opposition. It's only 1 degree apart.

Aries and Virgo are opposite in a way too. Virgo likes to plan everything and be organized. They are analyzers. Aries likes to dart ahead, and can't be bothered sorting through too many details. They'd rather just DO things.

One thing about out-of-sign oppositions though (and all out-of-sign aspects really), is that even though the aspect will function like an opposition, it will also have a tinge of the energy in it according to the signs themselves, and how they connect in the natural zodiac.

I found this through google. My opinion is, like with wide orbs, if you feel it, it's there. Maybe not the strongest, most glaring aspect in the chart, but it's still an aspect. To me, at least.

My Venus forms a T-square with Uranus and Jupiter - I've talked about it quite a bit since I've been here at LL. And as Venus is the apex and my chart ruler, I can really honestly say I feel every single aspect to my Venus, regardless of the orb, whether it's in-sign or not, whether it's major or minor. Venus is just that personalized to me and without these two squares, I'm missing a lot of the story.

Even more, I have Venus parallel the DSC exact and a draconic Libra stellium, plus, of course Venus in late Virgo (25 degrees) would progress into Libra when I was young, so I've been feeling its square to my Uranus in Cap (1 degree) and Jupiter in Cancer (2 degrees) anyway. Both are applying.

(Lol and just look at all the reasons I list for backing up my opinion, down to the tiniest details. Virgo Venus much? )

But seriously, though, I really notice both squares as a big part of my life. Venus square Jupiter makes me too generous and too forgiving (I've taken so many things from people, especially in a relationship, that I shouldn't have), super sentimental, loving and clingy - even more with Jupiter being in Cancer. While with Uranus, I need to be me in a relationship - especially after having suffered a couple of heartbreaks. And what is me being me? Being my super sensitive self and getting to be that way - with a partner who doesn't see it as a turn-off and likes it. Sadly, I would meet Uranus on the outside time after time (Uranus is Rx, so I find it hard to really identify with my own need for freedom), which got even worse once Uranus went into Aries and to conjunct my DSC.

So I'm just going to pull an Uranus here and say: f-ck traditional rules on that an aspect has to be in-sign. If it's within orb to be considered a natal aspect, and the person feels it, sees it happening in their life strongly, why not?

Oh and these were the placements in short:
Venus 25 Virgo (conjunct Juno exact), 12th house.
Uranus 1 Cap (conjunct IC), 3d house.
Jupiter 2 Cancer (conjunct MC), 9th house.
