Ok so I've read through most threads in regards to this aspect.

I've had this conjunction with a love interest in the past and not felt the passion all that greatly. Has anyone had the same experience?

I know some people find it to be the strongest aspect for physical attraction but not in m experience.

Yes, a guys Venus on my Mars does not seem to do much in terms of sexual attraction for me.

Agree. I mean I only have one experience with me being Venus and her mars. Meh. Nothing stood out.

Her Mars my Venus didn't do so much for me either. In another relationship, my Mars square her Venus was a little more energetic.

Maybe it has to be the guy's Mars and the gal's Venus.

Good to know I'm not the not one. I've had Venus conjunct Venus twice and that was very much felt.

I agree. I've had Venus square mats in most relationships and it adds heat. l have Venus conjunct mars in my natal so I'm surprised I don't feel it in synastry.

I think the house placements matter as well. I have Mars in the 4th and Venus in the 6th. Neither conjunction gives me passionate "feels" so to speak. I do like the trine and the sextile.

I really think so too.
Not quite the same thing but I have mars, venus, moon and eros in 8th and found that the most attracted I've ever been was to a mars conjunct pluto in scorpio and venus conj pluto in scorpio. Scorpio men are at the top of my list and I'm sure it's due my 8th house placements.

I don't find this aspect particular appealing when it comes to pure passion IME.
But it can certainly add to the attraction.

Sun/Mars,Mars/Moon or Mars/Mars is one that has proven consistently hot.

The Venus/Mars conjunct of this one celeb is on my 7th house angle. And I have been crushing on them for years. And I didn't know it until I looked at their chart.

I think that that is also worth a mention.

Venus/Mars aspects are my absolute favorite aspect for attraction. I especially like the conjunction and the trine.

Interestingly I have Aries on the 5th house cusp which is a Mars ruled sign, so maybe that has an influence. One of the trines I can receive to Venus is from Mars in the 5th house to my Sag Venus. When I have the conjunction it falls into my 1st house (of self expression/appearance). On top of this my Venus is in the same sign as my 7th house ruler (Mercury in Sag), so when Mars in Sag conjuncts my Venus it also matches my 7th house energy.

There are many different aspects that indicate attraction, and I think how we receive different aspects depends very much on how our natal chart is set-up... The aspect patterns we have, what planets we have ruling the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses, and where the other person's Venus or Mars falls into our chart. Also, the person has to be our 'type' overall, not just with the position of their Venus or Mars. We generally only fall hard for those whose charts really show that they are our 'type'. The person's entire chart aught to show a strong resonance to our 5th, 7th, and 8th houses/house rulers, the secondary 7th houses, the Vertex Axis, and the secondary houses of the signs of Venus or Mars (women with Mars in Gemini attracted to her 3rd house symbolism, man with Venus in Sag attracted to his 9th house symbolism) just to name a few factors.

For example, if someone were not our type overall, and they had Mars conjunct our Venus in a not so hot house for us (like, say, the 3rd or 6th house... However if we have Gemini or Virgo on a relationship house cusp, we might actually like someone's Venus and Mars in our 3rd or 6th house) then the synastry may not activate romantically with them at all. Or it could be one-sided.

In my observation yin/yang aspects don't activate romantically with everyone we have them with. What does activate them with certain people we meet is whether or not that person also hits our relationship houses/rulers and so on.

I use this formula...

Strong 5th, 7th, and 8th house activation (overall to our chart, not just from their Venus or Mars) plus yin/yang aspects = Big attraction.

Yin/yang aspects alone are not enough to create attraction, and it's totally possible for them to manifest platonically with friends and family members. The feminine planet will be supportive and the masculine planet will be a leader whether or not there is a romantic connection. It's like a switch needs to be flipped in our psyche in order for the yin/yang aspect to take on a 'romantic' context. The switch seems to be that the person's natal chart overall resonates with our relationship houses, and a few other factors.

If the person's Venus or Mars does activate a relationship house for us, but the rest of their chart does not match our taste, a weird thing can happen where we only like part of how they are but not the whole package. Like we wouldn't choose to partner with them despite some appealing qualities they may have.

*rolls eyes*

I have Aqua Mars in the 6th. I almost always feel it when a man's Venus is conjunct. I have a very energized Mars, part of a grand trine with Mercury and Uranus. And I find the 6th house can be very, veeery sensual. It is ruled by Virgo, an earth sign. It's not all about service and work, but also about revitalization and rejuvenation. It's the healing side of Virgo/6th house. And with sex and sensuality, the 6th makes it all a very intense experience in its own way. When I feel a sexual attraction to someone whose Venus conjuncts my 6th house Mars, I feel very revitalized and alive. It's quite awesome really.

On the flipside, I find it really draining to have a man's moon conjunct my Mars. He tends to be needy and wants to feed off my energy. I'm not comfortable with a man's mars conjunct my moon either--too overbearing and suffocating. In fact I don't like anyone's Mars touching my moon in any hard aspect at all. Bad, bad, bad. Pisces moons are too sensitive for that.

I don't really care for a man's Mars conjuncting my Gemini venus because it would be conjunct my Saturn too. Trines and sextiles are way better there.

I do like Sun-Mars aspects a lot too. I'm very comfortable with those.

But my Mars conjunct a guy's Venus, yes, I like it a lot. Unless his other planets are cramping my Mars, but otherwise yes. Definitely.

Here is my thoughts on this:
If there is a Venus/Mars DW (preferably one hard aspect to get things started) both people will feel it despite their love houses (5th/7th/8th) or their rulers. The DW will almost always result in sexual attraction.

However, if A's Venus hits B's Mars and it isnt reciprocated this is where the lack of spark comes from. Unless Mars is a love house ruler or an angle ruler. Venus will always notice Mars, but Mars can be oblivious to Venus unless the conditions (angles and love rulers) are right.
Eta: Venus is a receptive planet. She appreciates Mars for all that he is- but Mars is a burly young man in his prime. He wants to conquer and do (VENUS included!), but Venus isn't enough to startle him. Mars sees and beds beautiful women all the time. Its what he does.

So if only Mars is activated one way... Mars will eventually move on, if he stops to notice Venus at all
Ie; I never felt a sexual attraction to men with Venus in Sag. I do have quite a few male friends with this placement, but none of them have the Aries Mars to go with it. They are all wonderfully supportive friends though!
