http://astrofix.net/2010/07/16/saturn-contacts-in-synastry/

I found this. Im going to read this more, before I comment.

Ready or not, Saturn makes you grow up. Saturn ages whatever it touches. This works in natal astrology as well. The planets that Saturn contacts through synastry, or in your natal chart, get a mature attitude. If you don’t want to grow up, you might reject Saturn’s energy. You may resist responsibility and maturity and feel that people are holding you back. You may resist forming lasting connections with people.

What grows up:

Sun-Saturn: The Sun person learns to be a more mature version of who he is. He comes into his own.

Moon-Saturn: The Moon person gains emotional maturity and no longer gives in to child-like emotional displays.

Mercury-Saturn: The Mercury person learns to communicate like an adult.

Venus-Saturn: The Venus person learns what it’s like to be in a mature relationship.

Mars-Saturn: The Mars person learns to act like an adult.

Jupiter-Saturn: The Jupiter person learns about realistic optimism and expectations.

Saturn-Saturn: These two Saturns learn about shared responsibility and equal dedication.

Uranus-Saturn: The Uranus person learns to temper the urge for freedom with the need to establish ties.

Neptune-Saturn: The Neptune person learns the limits of illusion, fantasy and idealism.

Pluto-Saturn: The Pluto person learns about the limits of power struggles in a relationship.

im in a strong saturn relationship.

we have:

her saturn:

trine my sun
square my venus
conjunct my uranus
oppose my Jupiter

my Saturn:

Conjunct her DSC
Square her venus
wide conjunction to her uranus.

in our relationship, i am seem to fulfill the saturn role much stronger.

this must be because -

i have saturn square venus natally.
saturn trine mars.
saturn square moon.
saturn oppose jupiter/conjuct neptune.
Saturn in the 5th.

in her chart she has saturn conjunct mars
conjuct uranus.
possibly a Wide square ot venus (7 orb)

but she has moon in capricorn and DSC in capricorn.

shes older than me but the reality is, my demeanour is of a mature standard more often than hers

shes learned more i think about what it means to be in a mature relationship.

Very cool Lioness....I have heard people say how harsh aspects like 'Saturn square Sun' are, but I tell you what...I am thankful for them, because when you have alot of soft aspects, like trines...Grand Trines, I think I would have been doomed to being walked over my entire life...and my bf and I's relationship just wouldn't work...
I have my Saturn square my Sun within hours, and my bf's Saturn squares my Sun by less than 3 degrees...I have by means had an easy life, although there has been much joy....I get along with most everybody, but I also don't let anyone walk over me...good topic...

Well since its going to be completely over with me and Pisces.. I figured now is a good time to figure out what I have learned...

Im actually surprised here.. Wow my Saturn really hits most of his planets... So Im confused I wonder did/is he learning things? Or am I some how making him grow up?

First his Saturn conjuncts my dsc.. I did learn or figure out what I need to do in relationships... I also learned what I need out of relationships.. but im not totally there yet.. Still working on it..

We also have Saturn sq Saturn..
Saturn-Saturn: These two Saturns learn about shared responsibility and equal dedication.

wow... this is to hard to explain, but it does make sense...

Both way Saturn Sq NN (not on the list)
my Saturn to his NN 0.28
his Saturn to my NN 0.18
I can say, that now I am on a different path and I will not be the same after this.. Not sure about him..

In all his Saturn to me
saturn sq saturn
saturn sq neptune
saturn sq NN
saturn bq Chiron
saturn parallel asc
saturn sq MC

Now me to him... lol here where it gets funny
sq Mercury
quix venus
trine mars
contra parallel jupiter
sq saturn
quix Uranus
parallel neptune
conjunct pluto
sq NN
Contra parrallel chiron
sq Asc

Absolutely lovely topic, Lioness!! Thanks for sharing

I'm fascinated by how I have oodles of lessons with some important people in my life, yet minimal ones with other, or at least mutual surmountable ones.

*******************
example..

My mother is here to teach me:
1) about realistic optimism and expectations - my Jupiter opposite her Saturn

2) how to temper the urge for freedom with the need to establish ties - my Uranus trine her Saturn

3) about the limits of power struggles in a relationship - my Pluto square her Saturn

I am here to teach her:
1) what it’s like to be in a mature relationship - her Venus conjunct my Saturn

So letram and Lioness, you are both in very strong Saturn relationships as well...or were? I screwed up, it's my Sun and his Saturn, and reading that info that was posted definitely fits us! Someone had told me that this aspect would probably indicate that I may have something to teach him...and I think I have, unknowingly...as he has me...
we also have his Saturn sextile my Saturn(1), oppose my mean node(2), trine my MC(1),square my Karma(2),trine my Venus(2),trine my Merc(3), and Quincunx my Sun(3)

I know we had major lessons to be learned, and I am sure we still do...all in all I think we have the majority of them between us resolved...I hope anyway!

Well no matter what, karmic lessons will have its way.. Even though its over with me and pisces, we still have to see each other everyday... So im sure the lessons arent over.. I think they are in the process of moving to a different level of lessons.. Im not sure what is in store.. but Im pretty sure the crap hasnt hit the fan yet... (so to speak)

I think maybe we have learned what we needed to learn, by having the communication. Now we have to learn how to be with out each other but still deal with each other...

Also I think that both way Saturn NN is happening, sending us on paths we are suppose to be on, even though its different paths.

Also that Saturn sq Saturn... W have shared responsibility, but not equal dedication. IDK but to me it sounds like we both have to find a middle ground to agree on.. We have tried, but I gave in more to him, then him to me.. SO I met him his way... I learned not to do that crap again... lol

I do know he would have never walked away from a friendship with me... I know I had to be the one to end it...
I know its going to have some type of effect on him.. He probably wont ever show it or tell me about it, but I know he's effected by it..

But we have had, very mature and adult conversations... Even with everything we said to each other, we never once had a yelling out cussing fight.. It has always been a sincere conversation, with each others feelings taken into consideration before we spoke.
He's got anger issues, he will blow up at the drop of a dime.. but he never has with me.. He started to the night we spoke.. I just simply told him.. Calm down, and relax and listen to what Im saying to you, Im coming to you, and talking to you with honesty... He immediately calmed down.. and listened.. We spoke to each other in a calm and rational manner..

My ex husband Saturn was on my Asc... Omg.. now that I look back, he made me so boring!!! But I do grow up and become EXTREMELY responsible. I had no choice..

Having your Saturn on someone's Dsc is such a vulnerable position..you feel like the other person is going to reject you (venus/saturn) or you reject and/or criticize 1st to avoid that feeling.

I wonder if the same meanings work for a composite. Maybe saying what ever Saturn touches in a composite, both will grow in that area through the relationship.

I have someone's Saturn just inside my 7th, in the beginning he acted like he was rejecting me, when all I was offering was friendship, now that all I want is friendship (all I ever wanted) and he wants more so he's starting to feel rejected. So he had to warm up to me and now doesn't want to let go..
It can go either way..
I don't want to hurt him, but can't lie about what I don't feel for him.
I don't like being the bad guy.

Saturn is longlasting for me. My experience of saturn are that no relationship will last without strong saturn. Saturn is the glue.

With Moon sextile Saturn in synastry does the Saturn person comfort the Moon and look after them?

I have moon opposite Saturn DW with my Ex. Yes, there is an urge to protect, even occasionally parent there. Both in good and not so good ways though.

As for the earlier post, people with squares natally often seek others with squares, either natally or in synastry. If you had the trines, you wouldn't be walked over, you simply would have avoided those who had them. For someone with squares, the trine dominant person doesn't hold enough challenge, while the trine person sees the square person as too exhausted.

Hi were you replying to my question about whether or not the Saturn person feels the need to look after the Moon person? Would this be the cause even with the sextile?

Yes. I think the sextile would feel it too. Perhaps not as strong, but perhaps more positively than the hard aspects.

my saturn aspects someone's mercury, venus, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, pluto, NN and chiron and if he doesn't turn into the most mature responsible person on this planet thanks to me - then it's all for nothing.

i might go through some lessons myself since his saturn aspects my moon, venus, mars, saturn and lilith. i really do need to learn emotional maturity and relationships.

the energy is really heavy and dutiful.
