Hi. I feel a little shy in this forum since I never come here. Anyhow, I have always been very private about my poetry, but lately I am thinking again about publishing my poetry. 2 years ago I saved an article from my local newspaper about print on demand publishing. They listed some of the major companies. I just did a search on Google and there seem to be a zillion companies online. Has anyone ever done Print on Demand Publishing? Any one you'd recommend? I don't see publishing companies responding to me, if I submit it, waiting forever and ever for a book deal, only to be ignored. That's why I think I should do POD. The most economical one looks like Great Unpublished.Com but I can't get into the website. IP: Logged |

Please don't use them!!! Go to your servers home page and type in Print on Demand Publishing. Look at the web sites. They have a rap sheet!IP: Logged |

Nephthys, i know a bit about poetry, and there are POD companies out there that are reputable. Have you tried getting your poetry published in magazines first? Have you tried online magazines? You will need to sell the poetry you publish even with POD, have you had any writing experience, courses?I would happy to read some of your poetry, not that I'm published:> But I know a few published poets. Philbird, please give me a link to this "rap sheet". I did do a search and didn't get that. StHenri, I don't want my poetry in magazines. No, I haven't taken any courses. Why do I need courses if I have already written? Thanks IP: Logged |

Try typing, writing scams poetry scams, into your search engine. Be careful, I sent in a poem to Poetry.com. They sent me all kinds of "Formal" notices saying I need to guarante a position in the contest in order to potentially win the grand prize. Providing I pay them x amount of dollars to secure my position. They never said I won. They also implied I would need to attend a formal dinner in N.Y. for poets in the contest. That cost another $600.00, not including air fair. Needless to say I declined. I knew in my heart that the poem I submitted was not that good. Feel around, see what you come up with. Also try www.angelhoy.comwriting they have some tips.IP: Logged |

Hey, maybe I should do a homebound version (print at Kinkos?) to start? Thanks for the interest, Randall. IP: Logged |

Try this: www.publishamerica.com Hope that link works. They are a publisher that someone in the area where I live used. Oh...I'll look around, I knew of a company that publishes mostly poetry...but I'll have to see if I can find it... Good Luck! I'm looking to publish my first novel, and this week will begin to query agents/publishers.

I am trying Mountain Mist Publishing; they do e-books and print-on-demand and I haven't heard anything negative about them. They do sell to Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and Blackwell's, and Lynette is very nice, so you might want to look into them. IP: Logged |

If your worried about poem stealing, which has been known to happen we can exchange. Do stay away fro www.poetry.com I also won that... They sent me a nice formal letter. I was stoked, till I looked at the bill. Needless to say i'm a poorass. Bieng 16, how can they expect me to fly to America for an award??? Let alone book the hotel to present my poem. Suzume, I'm not sure if you're speaking to me, but my work is now copyright, so there is no risk in sharing it with anyone. All copyright work eventually is posted on the government's website. When it's posted there, I'll post the link. IP: Logged |
