I was sitting at my home in my library, reading the works of how science is trying to help us all live longer. They have some nifty ideas. But they keep speaking about slowing down the clock. The clock is always with them .. and research shows that if you do X,Y and Z, and partake of vitamins A, B and C, than you will make the clock move slower. In some cases you can even turn back the clock a little bit. Now, I applaud these scientists for all they have discovered about how are bodies work, and even the nifty things they learn about aging! But they really need to stop thinking about the clock. And then I remember the first "The Matrix" movie. Remember that little boy with the shaved head who says, "Do not try to bend the spoon with your mind. That would be impossible. Instead, realize there is no spoon." Interchange the workd "spoon" for "clock" and you get the idea. I really think some people are right on the edge of getting this immortality thing. But I guess they need a moment when they break into a federal building with guns blazing. Then they need to go inside the elevator. Then they need to rig it to explode. Then they need to go into the elevator shaft, stand atop the elevator, and just before shooting the rope to propell them via pulley power to the roof, they need to grandly say from behind ultra cool sunglasses, "There is no clock." ------------------ "The reason why birds can fly and man cannot is simply that they have perfect faith; for to have faith is to have wings." ~JM Barrie IP: Logged |

The film series has gone a very long way toward showing people a metaphor for how thoughts make a virtual world manifest.BTW, Grasshopper... what makes you assume that it was a federal building that they ambush? Lunargirl IP: Logged |

It seems to me that most buildings that have metal detecors at the entrance are federal or I guess state buildlings. Federal controls seems to accent the theme of the Matrix more than does conventional state bulidings. A state building would probably be a court building, too ... and I don't think there was any justice there!Actually, I applaud these scientists. They have concrete proof for the less intangibly inclined to examine and say, "Whoa, research indicates that a man can lose twenty years in a month with Human Growth Hormone thereapy!!!" I believe this will help some people realize how easy reverse spiraling is!! Still, there is no clock IP: Logged |

And no spoon. And no Earth. (dean/o... you make me larf!) Ah well, I always took that building for a corporate head office, a private multinational enterprise. Although now I think it through, such a place would probably have many video cameras outside, which would have put a dent in the narrative. So many are not on a traditional "spiritual" or metaphysical path -- quite possibly a reaction to centuries where religious institutions abused their power. Like you, I think science is another pathway to the same conclusions available elsewhere. cheers! IP: Logged |

Randall, do you mean the last scene in the film, or the preview scenes for Revolutions that plays after the credits roll? IP: Logged |

interesting concept about slowing down the clock grasshopper. the fastest animals on the planet live the shortest,e.g....cheatha...10years as opposedto the giant tortoise...arguably the slowest animal on the planet....which lives to hundreds of years...food for thought.. IP: Logged |
