http://www.metagifted.org/topics/metagifted/indigo/adultIndigos/areYouAnAdultIndigo.ht ml I read a thread here on Indigo kids and started doing some research when I stumbled across this. It's nice to know there are others out there, and that my suspicions are not just my own weird imaginings. Can anyone else relate? IP: Logged |

I'm really fascinated with this subject. If these descriptions fit you exactly. Can we see if you've made the same life choices? Like jobs, marriage, children, hobbies, unusual experiences? Perhaps we'll learn about other links in the chain. I'd really love to find out. Please respond.

hi gia -i think a lot of us here at LL fit these descriptions - taking non-traditional paths and risks, asking questions outside the box, being more sensitive than "normal", forming new ideas about relationships to each other and the world... i would also add "ecologically aware" to this list. anyway, here's my contribution to your survey: jobs - i have what is called "a diversified portfolio of work" i'm sure it will all become clear at some nebulous point in the future, but for now the only coherent theme is "don't be bored." i LOVE to learn and choose jobs where i'm challenged, but tend to leave as soon as the changes have been made. a not so cappy cappy. arts and healing are another strong theme. marriage - i do. i did. i could've done without it, but we planned on doing a project for which we had to be married to live together, so it seemd like as good a reason as any. both of us agreed that we'd already made the real commitment much earlier, and the social aspect was really for the parents and grandparents. i'm monogamous by nature, so it wasn't much of a change. i think the institution of marriage is and will be going through some major restructuring by this and future generations. especially now that we're living so much longer, and it also seems our karmic lessons are speeding up (my view of the divorce rate). i say to each her own. children - i don't plan to have them, although everyone tells me that will change when i hit 35. i dunno. i love kids, but don't feel the need to procreate in this lifetime. i'm much more likely to adopt. if there are little ones who need a home, why bring in more competition? then again, when i see pictures of corri and jason and meghan i can understand some of the mystery. hobbies - mucho eclectico. visual arts, healing, travel, yoga, reading, languages, music, writing, sailing/flying/horses (freedom!), being in nature - especially near the ocean (more contemplative than active), studying mythology and religion... those are most of the major ones. i'm a synthesist - i like to find connections between diverse fields. unusual experiences - definitely. especially when i was younger. i'll save those for another time. this was one of my favorite traits: "Have difficulty in service-oriented jobs" - i always hated waitressing! i did it all through college in new york and often felt like telling some of those jerks to... umm, never mind. though i love the service of doing volunteer work - something about the free giving that changes the dynamic for me. but then i wouldn't waitress for free either! here's another one i found right-on: "Have deep empathy for others, yet an intolerance of stupidity." seems like a paradox but it makes sense if we're talking wading through layers of bull&@%$ to get to the heart of things. who has time for small talk? i was lucky to grow up with a brilliant group of friends - i always thought of us all as a seed pod dropped from the stars onto our little town. it wasn't until i got older that i realized how out of the ordinary this really was. oh, and my husband has finally given up getting my watch fixed! Eleanore, are you still here??????

great topic. I recently read something about a new type called Crystal children and I think there are some adults. I've always felt like an indigo and now a crystal, to certain degree. I don't have the link, but I'm sure you could do a google search and find some info.Xelena Ben - I can relate to the waitressing thing. I am a waitress, been doing it on and off for over six years or so. It takes every ounce of strength in me, not to strangle certain people or tell them off. God, do I hate it sometimes. Being nice to people who are rude to you. Having to suck it up and be a really good actress, because youre depending on these people's tips to survive. But, I've been doing it for so long it starts to roll right off your back and you don't let it get to you. I start to feel bad for some of these people that are so unhappy, it makes them feel better to treat a waitress like they are somehow below them. Anyway, I won't go on and on about this. For the most part people are nice, you only get the occasional customer who ruins your day, and starts to make you wonder about your fellow man. IP: Logged |

hey taurus - yah, i just read your waitressing post this morning. gives me the willies. i get frustrated with my husband sometimes when he gets impatient or snappy with a server - "when did you last serve 30 people dinner at the same time?" i ask him i guess i just like being seen as a person, rather than a daquiri machine IP: Logged |

We waitresses you Randall. Sometimes we know we have'nt been able to give our best service to a table and they leave a great tip. It's always suprising. You feel bad if you, for one reason or the other, know that the service you gave was'nt your best. thank you for choosing to do that - I do the same thing. People are always like "Whoa! That's too much." I don't think it's ever too much if you have it. Also what goes around comes around. Right? The more you with hold, the less you recieve. Though that is not my purpose in giving - it just feels right - and good - to give. IP: Logged |

Randall! You have sprung yet another synchronisity into my life today. If you have read my other posts you have noticed I've been having alot lately. I read your post and jumped up to get my Star Signs book. I've read the whole book, but it was years ago. I usually pick it up to look into the numerology chapter of it. Your simple post made me want to read the Money Mystique chapter again. So I just did and to my amazement, I have gotten another "sign" to proceed with something I've been thinking about. I am an artist. My whole life people have told me I've got to "do something with it". It's a wasted talent, they say. I know this but it has always been a matter of getting off my butt and doing something about it. Ive had many ideas. I planned out how I was going to start my own business painting murals, designing t-shirts and many other "daydreams". Why won't I just DO IT?! I think there are many reasons for this. Part of it may be a crippling underlying sense of self - doubt, if I take a look honestly at myself.(virgo moon) I've always thought "someday I'll do something with my artistic talent". Someday, someday, someday. You know what "someday" never comes. I've got to get my act in gear or I won't be happy. I'm sick of being a "starving artist". I've been that way since I was born. I really can't stand waitressing, as much as I try to focus on the positve about it. It makes me miserable. In my rereading of the Money Mystique chapter, Linda comfirmed something I was just talking about last night. Recently I have been thinking of starting my own business designing greeting cards. Unique artwork with maybe a good quote inside. I know this wouldnt make me a millionare, but that's not what I want anyway. I was saying to my boyfriend last night that I would give half of the money I made from this away to causes I believed in. I would choose to give it to animal shelters or anything to do with animals and the enviornment. So today as your posting prompted me to read the chapter again, what does Linda say in her fabulous book? To give "HALF" of the money you make away. Just give it away! Just what I was saying last night! I'm taking it as a sign that this is something I should proceed in doing. She was telling me I should do this. I've heard of "tithing" before, giving 10 percent of your earnings away. But its funny that I wanted to give half away and reading this confirmed it. I believe that the amount of money someone makes is to a certain extent related to their sense of self worth. When you are "lacking" in money or material things it shows something is lacking inside. You are not truely loving yourself or walking your true path. Linda says "In fact the Money Mystique is so simple, you'll have to struggle hard to obey it and practice it's rules, experiencing a great deal of both mental and emotional pain in the attempt - until you finally experience the withering clutch of FEAR and LOSS and conquer it." !! I can feel myself day by day stepping closer and closer to realizing my goals and dreams. So thank you Randall, without realizing it, you were "tuned in" to me, and helped to send me a message. It never ceases to amaze me how we are ALL really connected. And thank you Linda. Your teachings live on, help, and are understood by many. 26 IP: Logged |
