When asked this riddle, 80% of kindergarten kids
gotthe answer,

compared to 17% of Stanford University seniors:

What is greater than God, More evil than the devil,
The
poor
have it, The rich need it, And if you eat it, you'll die?

Fate magazine ran this riddle last year and I, among others, won a free book on the paranormal for the winning answer

Because it's his and it's burning?? Wild guess.

I heard the other one before, and would you believe I got it? It took much deliberation, and general annoyance, but I got it.
It was the "greater than God" part that annoyed me, which then lead me to the answer. Because I thought ""greater than God"? What the heck are they talking about!?! What on earth could they possibly think is greater than God?? NOTHING is greater than God, for Pete sake. Ahhhhhhh. Nothing...the poor have it, the rich need it, if you eat it, you'll die. Nothing. That's the answer!!! Eureka!!
Is that how you got it too, Juni?

Drugs & Alcohol ARE NOT more evil then the devil... it's the devil within man that makes them evil...

I was gonna say something to that effect, LL, but I thought, eh. I've scrapped about that enough lately.

but, yeah...
The evil is the greed in man that makes them abuse those things.

Theoretically, nothing is more evil than the devil because he's the inventor of all things evil. They're his little gifts to the world.
But, is there really a devil? C'mon. What the heck to we need a devil for when we've got mankind? The devil's just an imaginary scape'goat'.

Sorry, didn't wanna go down that road. Stuff a sweat-sock in my mouth. Or keyboard.

I get slightly irritated when people claim money is the root of all evil.

See, I look at it this way:

Money cannot be the root of all evil, because it has a source.

It was made by people.

Money just seems to bring out a dormant sense of greed that lies within people, as well as other things.

Ever look at the bushmen? They live(d)? in harmony because there was plenty of everything, and nothing in particular that they could have that anyone else couldn't.

According to 'the gods must be crazy' anyways. but I have a feeling it's somewhat like what it's shown to be.
