quote: Battle of Evermore wrote:NAM- Of course I'm a Page fan. Isn't everybody? lol I like everything from jazz to bluegrass. I even play a bit of classical. I'm a big Chet Atkins fan, I think he does amazing fingerstyle. I love folk & blues...Bob Dylan & Robert Johnson are GREAT. How about yourself? I see you like Faith Hill. Nice guitars btw. Sexinesss. I have on a Zeppelin shirt in this picture, actually. lol
ok, I started a new thread for music so we won't pollute the pic thread :P
So, yes, I love Zeppelin and even know I am huge Page fan my number one idol is Richie Blackmore. As far as Jazz I am just not in tune with it, it just sounds wrong to me for some reason, I am more of a Blues person. Classical, yes! Spanish Guitar, yes! There are other types of music I like that are native of my country, but as far as playing all that I am just not good enough, I wish I was young and had the time to do it But with kids and a full time job I am lucky to get some time for my hobbies Keep practicing, I would like to see more women make it in the music business! Hair looks great, it suits you! As far as Faith Hill, well, there is a big reason why I have that song on my profile and it is only because of the lyrics, I am not that much of a country fan either, I like some , like old Hank Jr. and a couple others but my main style, is classic rock (to play) and I like music on the heavier side to listen to. There are exceptions of course, but that is the genral gesture of it. yay! we have a music thread! IP: Logged |

Well, hi to you too! yes, that Line 6 I have is not cutting it for me anymore, I also think there is actucally something wrong with it, when i go to use the tuner on it doesn't work well, so i don't know what else can be worng with it if I already know that something as important is not working properly. I'll go check out that forum, looks interesting. So, you play? do you have a Myspace account? IP: Logged |

Hallo NAM, did you ask me if I had Myspace? If you did, yes I do... lol Here's the link. You can add me if you would like, I don't think you can view it otherwise. I like a bit of old country.... love Johnny Cash, but I don't like 99% of the new stuff.Nickel Creek is a bluegrass band, I looked on Youtube and found some videos. It doesn't sound NEARLY as good as it does live though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rbCjTCr2sM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QsrqM4llCM HI HD!!! How have you been, ol' chap? IP: Logged |

~ B.o.E ~ re: ** .. well you've always got your up times and your down times with creativity. .. ** yeah .. how true .. .. up 'n down like a yo yo .. :-) actually .. yesterday i got hit with moon transit to natal saturn .. had me feeling 'what's the point' ( of anything ) .. ( the moon is my chart ruler .. but i tend to forget how its transits can effect me )~ NAM ~ re: ** .. give me a couple of weeks .. ** no prob. :-)) .. those articles aint about to vanish .. it was just i wouldn't like to see you part with hard earned moolah .. and potentialy end up with something you don't like .. i mean .. just about everything sounds cool in the shop .. but when one gets it home .. can be a different story .. i basicly started playin electric again at the age of 31 .. ( 1984 ) and i hadn't touched one since i was 15 .. in '84 eveything had changed .. and not knowing what to buy .. i just went for something familiar .. a fender strat .. and it was crap .. nothing like the strat i had as a teen .. the old one was a '63 .. .. the new one a japanese copy .. and amplification was just as bad .. fizzy and sterile .. that was before re-issues became trendy .. thing is .. had i known the data from the 'gear-talk' pdf i could have saved myself an awful lot of money and hassle .. .. i ended up buying one of his JD10 preamps .. and felt like kicking myself that i had not bought one earlier .. probably the best accessory i've ever purchased .. it's an amazing bit of kit .. ok .. question .. are there any new and upcoming guitarists worth listening to ?? it's been a while since i heard someone 'new' as it were .. ( blues .. jazz .. country .. ) 'till later ~ HD ~ IP: Logged |

Hello again Nam Just thought I'd butt in as you're talking music I used to sing alot when I was younger but although I always wanted to play piano my family couldn't afford lessons Anyway, I bought my daughter a Bass about a year or so ago, but it sat around gathering dust, so recently I picked it up and started teaching myself... I love it! My musical tastes are very eclectic - I was brought up with a mum into Sixties stuff, Beach Boys et al, and Dad is a country western nut - so I have a fine appreciation of Johnny Cash (I also love the way he waited for so long for June - Romantic) When I was younger though I was an 80's kid, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode etc, also loved Michael Jackson - but now I love Rock, Punk, Emo type bands... I live for music!

Hi Cat, that is awsome that youa re teaching yourself to play something, I think any musical instrument gives people discipline and a way out to a perfect world, somewhre you can have some piece and relax. I haven't played anything for a couple months now, I even have long nails LOL theya re pretty too I really miss it but it seems I just don't have the time for it, hopefully here in the next couple months things are going to change back to normal and I can start playing again. I do like a lot of different types of music but my main ones are hard rock, classic rock and blues. Thanks for reviving this thread guys IP: Logged |

I am finding it very therapeutic and also I feel a wonderful sense of victory when I master the bass line of a tune and can play along with the cd What do you play Nam? I've never had long nails of my own - only fake ones for special occasions. I used to bite my nails but don't anymore, but they still won't grow I just pluck away with my stubby little thumb IP: Logged |

Well, I shouldn't even try but I am always looking up to the hard intricate stuff, I can't even play a whole song of the harder stuff but I am a big Blackmore, Page fan I also like Stevie Ray Vaughn,Kirk Hammet. Anything that is bluesy, classical with a bite of hard to it, I pretty much like I can do the chords and I should be a better rhythm player then lead player but since I don't practice that i also s*ck at it LOL But the main reason why I even started playing again and I like it is because it is my "me" time and that is the most important part of it, I love to be taking far far away and it gives me peace, when I do master something it is also very rewarding! One day i will like to write something, I already do a lot of writing but it would be awsome to be able to write a song. IP: Logged |

I write lots of Lyrics/poetry, but am not advanced enough to write the music *sigh* - Will keep at it, you never know, one day we might both have a hit song to our name I'll have to look your guys up, they're not familar to me. At the moment I am into the punk/rock bands - Linkin Park, Green Day, Lost Prophets, 30 Seconds to Mars, Good Charlotte - I must be the only Emo over 30 IP: Logged |
