I spent New Years eve on top of the hill behind our house watching the fire works from four different towns with my wife Pidaua. We brought in the first day of New Year the best way we know how, Naked in Bed. IP: Logged |

I always see in the New Years with my husband and all 5 grandkids. They have a sleep over here and see the new year in together. It has become a yearly tradition for them. New Year's Day was a nightmare this year. We had a massive snow storm that began before midnight New Year's eve and got about 10 inches of snow dumped on us. My husband and a neighbor spent most of the morning digging us out. We woke up with the power off and it was off for 9 hours before it was restored. Seemed a transformer blew up. When the power did come back on the cable tv and internet were both out for awhile afterwards. It was freezing cold in here. I piled layers of clothes on both myself and the kids and we waited it out. Being in a house with 5 kids and no tv so Brody could watch Spongebob and no computers for the girls to play Webkinz and for Brody to play his games on is no fun. LOL Mainly because they find other "rowdier" ways to spend their time. It was an "adventure" for the kids. For us, well, nightmare is mild word. Chaos might be more accurate. LOL edited to say: The way I look at it with 2008 starting this way for us it can only get better from that point on. IP: Logged |

LOL Bear Just read your post. What a contrast. I had on three layers of clothes to keep warm and you and Pid found a better way. hee hee In my youth that was mine and my husband's way of weathering out the cold Michigan winters. That is why outside of our oldest son who was conceived on our honeymoon, our other two kids were both born in Nov. Feb. does seem to be the coldest month in Michigan winter. IP: Logged |

You got it! From there though some very interesting 3 way conversations by phone and 3 way private chats. I have a feeling 2008 New Year's Eve and 2009 New Year's Day will be even better! IP: Logged |

What a coincedence, I just got an email from a old friend that she and her husband are trying to have a 2nd baby and Bear & Pid are working on their 1st! Anyone else? Anyone planning for babies? 2008 is hinting to be a very busy year for the Storks . . . IP: Logged |

LOL Khaine. Sounds like you truly did have a great New Year's Eve wherever you were. Bear Yes it has been a while since we talked but I am very happy that you are back on the boards when you can be. I know it gets real cold in the winter in Germany. Even colder than Michigan. Since you and Pid are both from the southwest I am guessing it definitely will be a baby conceived in the winter. hee hee And it's not like you guys aren't giving it your all. LOL You know what truly amazed me? That Dick Clark is still alive and still able to be in New York on New Year's Eve! I was watching him on American Bandstand as a pre-teen so he has to be at least 100!! IP: Logged |

Richard Wagstaff "Dick" Clark (born November 30, 1929) is an American television, radio personality, game show host and businessman; he served as chairman and CEO of Dick Clark Productions, which he has sold part of in recent years. He is best known for hosting long-running television shows such as American Bandstand, five versions of the Pyramid game show, and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Clark DC cannot even rate with this fellow in his age group! IMO. Sir Thomas Sean Connery (born 25 August 1930) is a retired Scottish actor and producer who is perhaps best known as the first actor to portray James Bond in cinema, starring in seven Bond films. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Connery IP: Logged |
