A friend of mine is in prison and I send him info on things he wants to learn about because he doesn't have a lot of resources there. He wanted to know anything about asylums from the "gothic era"..I've been searching online like crazy and there is SO little information on this!

The most substantial information is about Bethlem hospital in the 1300s, 1400s. I'm looking more for how people were treated in the asylums..the conditions, the torture methods, the medicines, the beliefs of the physicians, etc. I need GOOD info and I'm struggling with the search.

If any of you have any info about this pleeeeaaaase let me know!
