This was a topic on another board eons ago and I thought it would make for interesting discussion here.

(for those that believe in past lives)

Do you think that we keep the same chart throughout time?

My thought is yes. That is a big part of what makes us *us*, and I think that stays the same... I know that is probably improbable, but then if that is possible then that would make sense for not coming back every century or something... I don't know that is just my thought.

If we have multiple life times because we are supposed to learn something each life on the road to ultimate enlightenment then it makes sense to me to stay with the same chart to maintain that base to then go and learn from.

If we have multiple life times because we want to stay with our soul mates, I think again it makes sense that we would maintain that chart.

Anyway, those are just a couple of my thoughts

I don't agree. I believe the nodes, among other stuff, shows us what we have to learn THIS time around. OK, if we don't manage to get it right, maybe we get the same chart next time as to get another chance. Here's some interesting reading: http://www.artcharts.com/astrology/catalog/samples/caycepastlife_jfk.html

Hi SnowWhite,

Well, I believe we need to travel the entire cycle to learn. If we maintained the same chart, we would only learn only one area. We need to experience it all to become integrated. Plus, it would be almost impossible to maintain the same chart, for the Zodiac is ever moving, too many variables to keep coming back and have the same chart. It is like a snowflake, never two the same, maybe similar, but never the same.

There is a belief that the Sun at death in one life becomes our natal Sun in the next. It is a process of learning.

And, as stella polaris mentioned, the nodes play a big part in life lessons, where we are comfortable and where we need to learn.

I agree with Donna and Stella.
If we were to occupy the same chart in each lifetime, then that would mean we would not be here asking numerous questions about our Astrological positions because we would have already MASTERED them by now.
I believe that we are an ever evolving body of energy that is put in a position of experiencing many cycles of life. Like Donna says, it's about integrating.
If the Universe is constantly changing, why wouldn't WE be? Besides, how boring would it be if you DID have the same chart positions? Life after life experiencing the SAME boring thing and knowing what's coming up next. It's like watching re-runs for the rest of your life, then coming back with more of the same. Gee, I would NOT want to return!

Wasn't it written somewhere that Aries is the infant, and Pisces is the old soul who has experienced every sign? And didn't Linda say about her twin being ahead of her on the karmic wheel, since he was a Leo and she was an Aries? I think it says something like that in Love Signs too. Does that mean we experience every sign? And if so, do we do it in order? I don't know....I think I'm confusing myself!

Here is what Linda says about the soul progressing through the signs - -
http://mysticcorner.com/Twelve%20Mysteries%20of%20Love.htm

quote:
The soul must pass more than once through the First Six Initiations of Love

quote:
After achieve the emotional maturity in these first six stages of development, man and woman must then pass through love's Final Six Initiations (more than once) to discover it's deeper spiritual meaning

Of course, she is speaking of Love, but what she says can apply to our Soul's Journey in any particular matter. Essentially, Love is what it is all about anyway, or so I believe.

I'm not sure you travel the entire circle.
A psychic told me I have had only 3 lives and yet I'm a Pisces! Pisces is the hardest sign to learn from, so what does that mean?

Hi Starlover,

Well, one doesn't necessarily travel in a linear line through incarnations. I don't think we follow them 1,2,3 through the Zodiac as we rebirth. We choose the right nativities that will help us on our spiritual path, depending on what we set up on the other side prior to incarnating. If there are certain planetary influences that would help us on our Soul's journey, I don't think it is important whether it begins with Aries or ends with Pisces. It has more to do with what we want to learn and experience.

For instance, you must have chosen to learn about compassion this time around, being Pisces. Rather than focusing on the other aspects of the other signs. This is not to say you also won't be learning tolerance, passion, honesty, awareness, etc. It just means compassion will be your focus and to incorporate it into your passion, honesty, awareness, etc.

This really is very interesting. I really never thought about past lives, karma etc until I started to do astrology. But now I wonder - how come I am here? One thing is like Donna says, I chose to learn the Virgo qualities in this life, but how come I ended up in Greece? I've left this country many times, but every time something happens that brings me back. I really believe I have some unfinished affair from a past life that I have to finish this time around. But why couldn't I just have been born a Greek? I'm sure many of you feel the same, that your living the place you live for some special reason. Where can we look in the chart to find out why and what?

Hi to all !
Hi Stella Polaris !

I perfectly understand what you're saying.
I live in Brazil, I was born here ,but for four years I lived in the United States.
In spite of loving to live in America, everything that I did [ related to my job ] just doesn't work and I had to return home.

I felt like a larger force pushed me back to my country.

I returned, but that sensation of being pushed continued a mystery for me until I read a book of Dr. Brian Weiss, he is a psychiatrist specialized in past lives.

In this book, (that unhappily I was seeking for 30 minutes , without success, to give you the name :mad he talked about this issue.
According to Dr.Weiss,we have to accomplish not only our own personal karma, but also the karma of a city, of a country and the world karma.

Therefore, if our karma is linked to the karma of a certain Country, any attempt of change will be frustrated.

When I look back to my own my life makes sense.

What do you think ?
Jakie
