I think Lilith is said to be the first woman created with Adam, but she wanted to be on top sexually (which was considered evil) so she was killed and Eve was made. I am not saying I beleive any of this I heard this from a girl I once knew.

Lilith is a little confusing to read in the chart, as there are three of them: Asteroid Lilith, Black Moon Lilith and Dark Moon Lilith. It's not a very cheery addition. Rules things like negative images of the feminine, destructive cycles in order to gain personal freedom and power.

Hi Everyone
Bissie wrote a very interesting article on Lilith on Greg's site (Metamorphosis newsletter). I'll email her and ask her to post on this string as she has studied this. I think everyone would benefit from her insite

Hi Sue
just say my name

Alphabet Sam and anyone interetsed
here is a brief description of Lilith and what is her role in one`s chart -

There are actually three different astrological points with the name Lilith, which causes some confusion: Asteroid Lilith, Black Moon Lilith and Dark Moon Lilith. Of the three, Black Moon Lilith is most interesting in terms of a natal chart and transits.

The legend of Lilith we know today is as the first wife of Adam, before Eve. She refused to be subordinate to him and to lie beneath him in sexual relations. She wanted to be on top. When Adam tried to force her, she used her powers to fly away.
Adam prayed to God to bring the rebel back to him. So God sent three angels to search for her and they found her at the Red Sea in the land of the demons. She refused to follow the angels, damned them and spent her time making love to the demons, which seemed to be more fun. God punished Lilith for her disobedience and started killing her children at the rate of 100 per day. To this mythical genocide, Lilith reacted by killing children herself. Meanwhile, God created Eve from Adam's rib to make sure he had a more servile companion at his side.

In the traditional astrological literature Lilith is mostly described as representing the dark part of the female being. She appears as a demonic, dark goddess, as a destructive, psychic trouble-maker, the ultimate femme fatale, the mean seducer bent on revenge - really a very diabolic image.

In Modern times - Lilith stands for a form of independence that may cause some loneliness or result in your getting in with the wrong crowd (symbolized by the demons). The feminists see in the myth of Lilith an early expression of female power, sexual freedom, and independence from male domination. She represents a combination of the magic power of the dark goddess, the female instinct and the endeavor to be equal to the male.

BLACK MOON LILITH
Black Moon Lilith is a point in the Moon's orbit. It is not a body in the sky. As the empty node of the Moon's elliptical orbit, it appears as the lunar apogee, the farthest point that the Moon gets from Earth.

Conjunctions within 3 degrees are significant, as are oppositions within 3 degrees. Other aspects are not necessarily important .

A frequent occurrence in charts of women with "Lillith character" (this includes women whose powerful sexuality has become a hallmark of their public image) - is an aspect between Lilith and Mars, Sun, Venus or the ascendant.

It has been observed that Lilith is very strong in artists' horoscopes. In general, we find her dominant in the charts of powerful, creative, personalities who live a life apart from social norms and conventions, quite successful but yet vulnerable or sensitive in their feelings.

In the female chart, the embodiment of the ideal Lilith seems to be the woman who is strong and consciously using her instincts, who takes control of her sexual power, who knows the rhythms of her body and controls contraception and pregnancy, whether she wants children or not, and if so, has no fear of giving birth and experiencing this tour de force as a source of female strength. On the other hand - painful issues surrounding children and birth, unsuitable sexual partners, and parts of your life where one just can't function like others do are Lilith issues as well. Women who have Lilith in hard aspects to the Moon or in the 5th house may have problems with pregnancy and childbirth. A woman with such aspects could suffer from miscarriage, be pregnant when she doesn't not want to be, or be afraid of motherhood.

In the male chart, the ideal Lilith has her effect by making the man attracted and attractive to strong women. Fair relationships with proud and impressive women would be no problem.

Experiences with Transits of Lilith are often connected to feelings of pain and agony. That brings us back to the myth: the Lilith of myth cannot forget that she was punished and tortured just because she wanted to act freely and according to her own will. Hence, Lilith transits often bring us into contact with uncontrollable emotions, a desire for revenge and frightening sides of sexuality.

Hope you enjoyed,

best regards,
Bissie

i mean absolutely NO insult to ANYONE...but that is the weirdest story i've heard in my life concerning the story of creation...i have never heard that before...the name Lilith just makes me think of Lilith Fair, you know that concert that Sarah McGlothlin got together?

Bernsie, this link goes to a more detailed, very opinionated and irreverent interpretation of what happened between Lilith and Adam:

Stella Polaris

Hi. I have an ephemeris, is you can't find your Black Moon anywhere else, I'd be glad to look it up for you, if you post your birthdate.

Stella,

I have your chart in my PC -
your Black Moon Lilith is at 2'51 Virgo in 3th house and conjuncting your IC - seems your independent nature will clash with your domestic/family obligations

your husband`s Black Moon Lilith is at 27'Saggy in his 4th house, conjuncting his North Node.
Black Moon, which relates to the deepest emotions and passions, in
the house of home can indicate a bottomless wound related to the family environment in early years, such as death of the mother, separation from one's family, major trauma during infanthood - or even earlier, in the womb.
This position can also manifest as a burning need to cut one's family roots and disconnect from one's parents. If you find that you often change the place where you live, then you should ask yourself whether this has something to do with your Black Moon in the 4th house - never feeling really at home anywhere because of an unconscious wound, rather than with climate or real estate reasons.
Actually Stella, that could be reffered at some point to you too, as your Lilith conjunct your IC .

Bissie, thanks for your efforts, but did you look at our synestry chart or what? My husband's north node is in Sag, but in the 10th house, the cusp of my IC is not in Virgo...Or do you have the wrong birth time?
Woodlandgnome, since you offered to look it up, too: I'm born 17.09.1962, 01.05, Trondheim, Norway. Thanks a lot!
Bissie, I found it very interesting everything you write about Lilith. If the Virgo placement is right it means it conjucts my Uranus...Hurrah! Even more influences to look forward to when Uranus opp is coming up next year...

hey Stella, of course I will check it out -always for you sweetie

okay...hhmmm...yes, the birth info I have for you is correct - I just typed wrongly the SIGN of Lilith, but all the rest is correct..Black Moon is still in your 3th house, conjuncting your IC and opposing your MC, and it is 2'51 LIBRA, not Virgo, I am sorry.

Lilith in conj. to your IC could bring out the rebel quality in your personality engaged in all domestic affairs and if you are not cautious, the rebel nature of Lilith could work against you at times. The Black Moon is not particularly diplomatic!
You may well find yourself involved in some heated disagreements with your family (father or husband, the one who represents IC ) and being in opposition to your MC - also arguments with boss or colleagues which may have detrimental effects on your promotions! But then again -people with a strong Black Moon often prefer to be self employed as they are highly independent.

as for your husband - I may be filled in the wrong time - is it 8:30 AM or PM? I`ve got 8:30 AM for his time of birth but if I take the PM time, then his North Node moves in his 10th house, along with his Black Moon 27'05 Saggy.
That must be the problem, yes - the AM time, I am pretty sure now, I corrected it to PM..

well, now we have Lilith in his 10th house..(no any other tight aspect with Lilith)
Black Moon Lilith, by nature, does not like rigid establishment or anything that resembles patriarchal authority. In the house of career, this may lead to avoiding conventional forms of profession, and seeking for unusual activity. He can become marginal.
Even if he is not, there are likely to be times with a huge pull to be self employed - There is a deep potential for originality, which will blossom in creative occupations. Black Moon in the 10th enhances the
challenge of finding the right activity in life - the one in which he can blossoms and fully express his individual nature.

hope that helps

love`n stuff,
Bissie

he must be terribly good with his intuition but what else?

Hey Bissie,

Where is my Lilith? Is she hiding out in one of my houses?
That little rascal, where IS she?

Bissie, speaking of hiding, where have YOU been? Left you a post a couple of days ago on the other string.
