Hi everyone,
I was reading this interesting book about your soul mission, and came across a lot of interesting topics. I particularly liked the Mars Placement bit.
According to the writer, each astrological sign in Mars articulated its anger issues differently, and until you discover and handle your past life conflicts, you won't be able to use the positive assertive energy from your Mars placement.

Your Mars placement Sign tells what kind of person you were in your past lives.
Those born with :

Mars in Aries: You were probably a loner native American warrior, a solitary explorer who died alone, a military leader leading his soldiers to death, someone injured by a sharp object and blead to death, self-centered loner, or someone who died of inflammation or fever.

Mars in Taurus: A greedy, and maerialisitc woman, a native American who owned a land which was confiscated by American soldiers, a materialisic person who conflicted with others.

Mars in Gemini: An angy writer, journalist or lecturer, a salesman , infedile man, one who caused conflict due to his restless temperament, a liar unaware of this trait.

Mars in Cancer: A brooding, insecure, guilt-inducing mother, a healer who wanted to be needed and created codependent relationships that hurt his/her patients, a hypersensitive, moody, and emotional person, a woman who clung to the past to the extent of losing joys and opportunities in current life.

Mars in Leo: An aging actor, a self-centered autocratic king, a bombastic male wanting to be on center stage at all costs, a performer who was assassinated onstage, a childish vulnerable adult.

Mars in Virgo: A doctor, or nurse whose enire motivation was martyrdom to is or her patients, an inept doctor or nurse leading to death of patient, a workaholic whose life is filled with negative thoughts, a controlling leader, a hypochondriac.

Mars in Libra: A self-serving judge whose partial decisions led to injustices in his court, a vain society matron, a woman whose obsessive passion in a love affair created serious emotional and physical imbalanced in her life.

Mars in Scorpio: An intense, brooding man whose passion, extremism, and jealousy lead him to stalk someone with whom he was involved, a black magician, a dark vengeful woman, a detective whose work centered on his suspicious and paranoid nature, a controlling, manipulative head of a company.

Mars in Sagittarius: An itinerant preacher who traveled the country proselytizing his beliefs in the form of fire-and-brimstone sermons, an uncommitted cowboy, a claustophobic traveler, a pedantic philospher who pushed his truth down the throat of his followers.

Mars in Capricorn: a dictatorial, ruthless, demanding father, an authoritarian businessman, a scrooge-like personality who was stingy and selfish, a self-righteously angry man.

Mars in Aqaurius: An erratic rebel who led a revolution against his government for the sake of rebelling, a lawless nonconformist, an inflexible detached individual who was unable to connect with others on an emotional level, a brilliant, yet tormented scientist who hid in his lab far from society, a leading-edge philosopher who was ostracized for his non-conforming beliefs.

Mars in Pisces: An impractical alcoholic, a religious leader who martyred himself to his religion, an early Christian who died at the hands of the Romans, a totally codependent woman, naive, escapist, a person
who believed by sacrificing oneself to other will be a good person, someone taking actions without enough thought or reason.

Do you remember now?

I dunno that seems very negative to me. Carryign anger around from last week doesn't suit me I certainly can't see carrying it from my last lifetime.
Besides, on top of my Cappy mars, I'm Capricorn so the authority figure is part of who I am que sera sera

I have to agree with Foxxy. This is probably one of the most negative descriptions I have read.

To play devils advocate, I would ask, in my next life, what will I become? In this life I am neither a codependent woman, and alcoholic, a matyr or anything else that is being described in the post. If how we handle ourselves in this life, indicates our mars in our next life, then the prospects, no matter how well we deal with our anger, will be bleak.

Please list the name of the book and the writer. I think it is interesting, but there seems to be too much negativity placed on the signs.

Thanks,

Pidaua

Hello again,
The book that contains these 'descriptions' is :
-" Discovering Your Soul Mission" by Linda Brady and Evan Lifer, and it had received excellent reviews from many who had read it. I found it quite interesting, in fact mesmerising. A very good read indeed.

It is not all negative though, it contains a lot of information, on other planets and many different charts as well.

Mars placement was probably a bit negative due to its nature being the planet that represents physical energy, aggression, anger ( how we understand and express it ), power, and war .

At its best Mars represents fucused determination and self motivation. At its worst it can be impulsive, reckless and destructive .

I agree with the assessment that mars is an extremely aggressive planet, but I hate to see total labels. I also agree that the total chart must be consulted in order to provide a picture of the personality.

I found the following definition of Mars:

Mars, like all planets, can express its energies for better or for worse, depending upon the aspects it receives, and its sign placing. Mars is our source of aggression and anger, but also our source of sexual passion and desire. It can make us rude, abrupt and impatient, but it can also inspire us to tremendous courage, bravery and leadership.

Now, I have a difficult Mars in that it is in the emotional sign of Pisces (on the cusp of Aquarius and Pisces). Does that mean I am noncombative, dreamy and a drug addict?

Well, looking at my chart and seeing that I have a strong Sun and Venus in Sag and a Moon in Aries combined with strong Virgo Pluto / Ascendent conjunction and Uranus in Libra in my first house.

At first I was worried about having a Mars in Pisces, but then I realized it could serve me so much more by allowing the emotional and creative water to dilute some of the rigid and overly passionate fire / earth in my chart.

Now, there is also a person that I know that has a Mars in Leo and it is a Singleton. He is one of the most power hungry, ruthless human beings that I have ever encountered. He has no regard for anothers feelings or opinons and acts like a sullen little child when he does not get his way.

I think it is all very interesting, especially when combined with the Karmic theories connected to Saturn and past lives.

What is your opinion on it? Do you feel that your Mars has influenced you in a negative or positive way.

I appreciate you sharing your info starlette, there aren't really any good sources for astrological books around here and when they're dry or too esoteric for me . . Well I stop reading
My Mars is relatively badly aspected, being square pluto which is just a recipe for blow ups and self/other destruction. In fact right now its being fired up as Mars transits my natal pluto. The trick lies in knowing how to use the energy. I'm blowing up all the stuff I haven't done simply because I've been too stubborn, making apologies whether the fights were my fault or not, calling my old doctor to get health info for my new doctor, reconnecting with my dad.

Mars, in my chart, squares Pluto , and this can be a very disruptive placement.

I quite often feel Inner conflict arising, and this can develop into some ugly temper tantrums if I am not careful.

I have to work on this on a constant basis. To make things even worse the transiting Mars squares my natal pluto.

I understand starlette. I have Mars squaring my Neptune, which can cause some heavy problems.

I used to spend so much time helping people that really took advantage of me because I wouldn't listen to my gut. The truth was, I felt some guilt as if I should feel bad for what I had accomplished or earned, so I would try to help people. Although helping is not wrong at all, I ended up being used by more than a few friends. I am wiser now.

Also, I do have a sensitivity to drugs, like cold or allgery medicine. I haven't experimented with others, but something always told me to stay away because the effects would be fatal.

My hardest time seems to be when the moon is in Gemini. It opposed my Sun and Venus while squaring my Mars, Pluto and Ascendent. During that time I am prone to outbursts and a quick temper. Whew...so much to learn

Oh, c'mon. i'm nothing like these. I'm Mars in Scorpio. I think Mars in Scorpio pertains to a determined person, not an evil one.

nope.
just leaves me confused lol
I am about as materialistic as Mother Theresa.
Weirdly enough, l relate better to the Mars in Aries than the Taurus one.

Maybe l am better suited to my sidereal chart, as Bucketrider also questioned.

Mars in Leo: An aging actor, a self-centered autocratic king, a bombastic male wanting to be on center stage at all costs, a performer who was assassinated onstage, a childish vulnerable adult.

but maybe not as bad as capricorn's. in any case, i think these are best read lightheartedly... it doesn't really make sense to me.

I love this on Sag

Mars in Sagittarius: An itinerant preacher who traveled the country proselytizing his beliefs in the form of fire-and-brimstone sermons, an uncommitted cowboy, a claustophobic traveler, a pedantic philospher who pushed his truth down the throat of his followers.

I've met many Scorpios who fit that description who don't even have a placement of Mars in Scorpio.

I happen to have Mars in Scorpio conjunct my sun, mercury, & pluto. I can be pretty intense & brooding but I try to control my urges to manipulate.
