Hiya

Can anyone tell me the effect a quincunx transit has between Pluto and natal Saturn? Can we compare it with another major aspect? Because I have the book written by Robert Hand but it explains only about the major ones (as on Astro.com). I know some think a quincunx is a major aspect as well, although opinions are widely spread about this.
Anyone? Thanx!

Mercy,

A quincunx is a potent aspect. They are difficult, because there is NO relationship between the two signs involved, so some adjustment must be made. When they are in the natal chart, we learn to live with them over time, but they can be difficult by transit, because this maladjusted energy just appears. So read Hand's definition of difficult aspects between Pluto/Saturn, with that in mind. Of course, it will make a difference if you have a natal Pluto/Saturn connection.

I am thinking that transits of Pluto in aspect to other natal planets and Luminaries, seldom cause any significant events or changes in life, except the 4 major aspects; conjunction, square, opposition and trine. Although the quincunx is to be considered more effective in nativities(more than a "minor aspect") than by transit, any of the "minor" aspects to Pluto are usually not that strong. This has much to do with Pluto's zodiacal latitude.

Pluto when aspecting any natal element, causes at time of critical evaluation, and often rejection by society in general, according to the nature of the aspected natal element. His most dangerous position is when in aspect (conjunction and Partile square) to one's natal ascendant.

Thanks for the welcome Carlo. Many times I do not introduce myself on a new site that I have "invaded" to "test the waters"! No, I do not come from a volcanic spring. The name comes from the drylakes of California's Mojave Desert where Borax is found. As you probably know that Boron is seldom found as a pure element, but is mixed with other minerals. (Actually I like Fourine the best, although it could be construed as a girl's name.)

If Uranus is on your natal ascendant, then we have a mutual exchange in our charts, mine being the sun at (sidereal zodiac) 1 deg. Aquarius and Tropically, it is 25 deg Aquarius.

Hello everybody

Mercy, interesting aspect the quincunx. For all of us trying to figure it out I would suggest looking at which houses the planets involved are ruling. For you Mercy which houses does natal Saturn rule? Since Pluto wants to transform all it touches and Saturn holds tightly to the tried and true for him, I would look at the areas in the chart influenced by this contact.
Carlo, your aspect intrigues me...why? because Uranus is one of my ruling planets and has been in my 1st house for over a year now
I take it you have a Virgo Asc
If so checking what Mercury is doing (with aspects etc) might help!

Maybe Uranus wants to remodel your appearance and you are in a dilemma

Hi Boron,

I have a quick question for you about the Pluto reference to aspecting the ascendent. Are you speaking about the transiting Pluto aspecting ones Ascendent (especially in regards to the conjunct) or the aspect of the natal Pluto and ones natal Ascendent?

In my case, I have my natal Pluto (Virgo) conjuncting my Ascendent. At this time I also have the transiting Pluto conjuncting my Venus in my 3rd house (almost done) and on it's way to conjuncting my Sun in my 4th house.

I look forward to reading your response. I think...LOL

Hey Carlo,
Saturn is my other ruler...I am Aquarius rising and btw I have Uranus/Pluto conj (exact) as well!

Since the Moon rules your Asc why don't you check to see where the Prog Moon is now natally and which house she is ruling in prog chart (I would think the 12th?) If so maybe Uranus is showing you some hidden mystery Piscean/Neptunian themes/people maybe something you are not conciously aware of yet. What about the house Uranus rules natally as well...your 8th? This transit then would show the timing to those progressions (check converse as well).

I've always had the impression quicunx is karmic...seems that even though consiously we think something is not working out we are still drawn to it and cannot quite figure it out...cause our souls are being drawn to the person or situation or whatever. Maybe that is why the Magi use it as a major indicator for love relationships....
Don't shoot me just throwing some ideas at ya!

Btw I love the concept of Vulcan ruling Virgo...their hidden passion is very vulcanic which suits this Taurean just fine thank you very much!

Just a quick tidbit for you! When I was deciding on a username coming in to Linda's land I almost used Misty...she was a drawing I did when I was a little girl, long black hair, beautiful maiden with the full Moon in the background and I loved her for all the mystery she filled my soul with....funny how you identified with the name
