Generally speaking it makes for a very passionate person, sometimes overwhelming in intensity. In some charts, sex gets connected with the desire for financial gain. This could manifest itself in a range from prostitution to marrying for money, not love.

Anyway you look at it, it certainly makes for a great lover, if not a great longterm partner in life. Unfortunately the motivation might not always be above board.

Just my thoughts

Hi, thanks for replying. I have heard that because it is a square, there are more challenges that go with it, than there are benefits (if there are any at all). In terms of overcoming the challenges, everywhere I have looked, they always say it must be overcome by the 'free will'. This sounds very difficult. Anyway, any other info will be greatly appreciated.

many thanks

Venus Square Pluto:
Your romances are usually karmic or predestined and you may have secret love affairs. Sexual passions may be so overwhelming they're difficult to control or properly direct. Psychological inhibitions may also prevent positive expression of your sexuality. These intense emotional and sexual relationships can have a debasing influence. Try to maintain high standards for yourself. Social conditions can interfere with your happiness and fulfillment. You can desire material wealth so much that you may marry for money or use sex to gain money. You make many demands on your partner and vice versa. You're always looking for the ideal love and/or career. You must learn to compromise. You can be very inspired and creative. Financial problems are due to risky over-investment.

Oooops... ... I posted a transit above...this is the natal aspect

VENUS SQUARE PLUTO

The square to Venus from Pluto will have a deep and powerful effect on your personal relationships. You will find that any benefits you gain from a relationship will be accompanied by some
kind of suffering, and that what you want is often not what you need, thus ensuring periodic crises and painful breaks in your emotional life.

You will have a deep need to be the one in control in your relationships, to be the one who calls the shots, and if you attract someone of like mind your relationship could become a constant power battle until one of you decides to call it a day, preferably yourself. If, on the other hand, you attract someone of a more passive disposition who is prepared to put up with your tendency to dominate and get your own way, you could soon become bored and start to look for someone with a little more "fight". Either way, you will probably find yourself attracted to people who would be considered taboo,or "not the right sort" according to the values of your culture and upbringing.

Many of your problems arise from the fact that, not really knowing what it is that you want from a relationship, you put out a subtle combination of possessiveness and rejection. You make it clear that you expect certain standards of behaviour from the other person, and that even the suspicion of unfaithfulness will not go unpunished, yet at the same time giving out the unmistakable message that you do not really need them and could get on very well without them. This could provoke the very behaviour that you are so openly against, or result in extremely possessive behaviour from the other person.

You will need to be honest with yourself and understand what it is that you are looking for in a relationship.
A nice, stable, secure partnership in which each takes the other for granted is certainly not for you.

Oh my god, I have them both: the natal and the synastry aspect. But I think it somehow works. Maybe it's like two negatives that make a positive.

And, yes, since I learned to compromise (once in a year or so ), things are a lot better. No, smoother is the better word.

I must say this interpretation is really accurate.

Hi, Jakie!

Taj...there is no real way to resolve a Venus-Pluto square between charts. If that person is a lover, the affair will be hot and heavy, and possibly crazy and unstable, despite the attraction and sex being out of this world, or that's usually the outcome. I would be interested to hear what some of the issues are for you with this person, yet likely they are issues of intensity and craziness. There are some comments on Venus-Outer Planet interaspects in a wack article I wrote a few years ago, here:

http://lovestarz.com/track.html

I was attempting to explain how we can use astrology to help us figure out potential lovers, or mack more effectively, yet my take is, well, wack! Yet if you can score the Donna Cunningham articles I mention, you will learn a lot more. Check the Mountain Astrologer website too, maybe they were cool enough to post these articles in their freebies, yet I doubt it. There is info out there, yet generally, Venus-Pluto squares or oppositions, especially if they are in mutual reception (yours square hers and hers square yours), it is way more potent, like a triple whammy. Just look at some of the couples in the page I did, and you'll get the idea. Yet if you are the type that enjoys that touch of craziness in your relationships, then anytime you see a Venus-Outer Planet contact, grab the girl and have some crazy-ass roller-coaster-intensity fun...yet never expect for it to be a nice, sweet, smooth love affair, since you will likely get the total opposite. I have seen it time and again, and so has Donna C., her articles bear out this result.

Bright Blessings,
Carlo

carlo, you wrote THAT?

twas earlier this year that i first read about synastry. and so was in earnest. and stumbled upon your site. was searching then for descriptions about aspects between venus and pluto and when i found yours, well, all i can say is that tis by far the most fascinating and lyrical i've found... (err...i haven't found many ... kidding!)

"From the dark roots of the soil a plant eventually blossoms. The male hunts in the dark to provide security for the woman he loves. The more he does, the more he transforms the base qualities within himself, until ultimately he becomes the Angel of Light for her to follow. In the process, she gives him warmth, enriching herself through his mysterious quest for understanding. When he sees her light at the end of the tunnel, he begins to touch the fruits of goodness that had always seemed beyond his reach as both begin to share a tremendous depth of feeling."

only it's the other way around with me because tis my pluto, mars and uranus all in conjunction with each other in virgo trining his venus. and yes, i have that aloofness that you talk about between venus and uranus.
and yet, there is that obsessiveness that donna talks about in a venus-pluto trine. i call this the 'pull'.

his pluto squares my venus, on the other hand. tough. very. i call this the 'push'.

was thinking yesterday why can't i ever have a "nice, sweet, smooth love affair"? will i ever? could only sigh... then shake my head. and smile.

and yes, our suns are inconjunct. mine sag. his taurus, where my descendant falls and where my north node conjuncts his venus.

not lighthearted, this.

p.s. don't worry. you're not the first one to mistake me as one of your sex. (are you blushing yet?...no?.. um, shuffling your feet in embarassment?...uh, st.st.stuttering?... ok, turning off sag teasing humor before you really do )

my closest friend ( 20 years) is your female counterpart, by the way.

thanks a lot, carlo.

oh, 'zodiacal musings' = superb stuff. what can i say? triple

Thanks for the appreciation, taj Zodiac Musings is the flagship of my website, my best and favorite page, I have been compiling it for a few years now. It gets the most hits of all my pages, over 20,000 per month, and accounts for about half of my total hits to lovestarz.com.

Who is my female counterpart that you have been friends with? someone here? And taj, have you ever gone with a Gemini guy? if so, would you care to make a poem about it? have you seen Linda Goodman's poem on Sag girl/Gemini guy? let me know if you would like to write one, I would put it here:

http://lovestarz.com/connect.html

this page is not yet available for the world to see, just the knowflakes. Please let me know if you would do a poem, there is room! Lovestarz.com needs you

Bright Blessings,
Carlo

my virgo friend is one from college. she always come up with the feet-on-the-ground kind of answers to my head-in-the-clouds kind of questions.

i'll give the poem a try...the virgo way...as i haven't known a gemini. perhaps it'll take a few days. thanks.
