First of all I want to take the opportunity to thank the universe for the lessons that came with this karmic tie I have met up with. I am enjoying it now but it is more a 'joy inside my tears' (Stevie Wonder ) kind of thing. Boy and am I fortunate to have this wisdom.

I have a question concerning the Nodes and Karma. Which person hands out the lessons so to say? The Node person or the Planet person? Or is it a mutual thing? And how about a quincunx to the North Node done by Saturn? I love being in the middle of some Karma , better enjoy it and move ON, so much more to come! But it also HURTS (not anymore)!!!!! But no matter.

No I am not a masochist! It's just wonderful to get the opportunity to grow and the person who triggered it doesn't even know it...yet! Although I guess he does, maybe even more so!

to all!

Hi Mercy,

Just wanted to say that I have read your post.

In my opinion, I do not think there are any clear, cut and dried satisfactory answers. Amongst us, it is really a matter of interpretation, but I suspect on another plane, there are hard set rules. Does this make sense?

I used to wonder the same things myself years ago. But I came out of the experience that treating each other with love, kindness, and respect has very little to do with who owes, or owns the karma. "Teacher" is an ambiguous role that we often times fail to acknowledge in conscious thought.

I agree Aphrodite but I wouldn't know how to put it in words, typical me. But I was wondering about it as I did read about planets aspecting another's node. Sometimes it brings benefit to one but sometimes benefit to both. You know what I mean? But as to who owes or owns what, that is not important now really. It is more of the flow between the two.
But having slept one night more I think I figured it out. Thanks for your reply dear Aphrodite!

Hello Mercy,

If I do not hear from you again, have a Happy Holiday!

I agree with Aphrodite. The nodes are becoming more popular but as it is, there is only true speculation, even in terms of what the individual nodes signify.

I will say that when dealing with anything astrological, start with the basics. The nodes are in a constant state of opposition. This signifies the need for balance. It is perhaps the only absolute fact about them, besides the fact that they are lunar in nature. To define them from this point is to merely speculate and "what if" the whole thing, despite "evidence".

Synastry-wise, my research (**thus far) has shown that squares are the most common link to nodes, and any planet squaring nodes is equally touching both!

Neither node is more or less significant on its own, regardless of theories. Many long-term relationships have survived with planet-s. node links, (i.e. director Joel Coen and actress Frances McDormand) even Saturn-s.node links, which many believe to be a separating aspect. Not true. So when looking at links b/w your chart and another's, always keep this in mind. Links to BOTH nodes need clarification- though understanding at this point may be hard to come by.

As human beings, even those of us who are fascinated by the mysteries of life, we innately seek to put things into some semblance of order, even if this moves us further from reality. Hence, all of the classic theories about what each node means. Do not stick to these notions. I assure you, the nodes remain unclassifiable at this point. If you want to associate them with lunar themes, this would not be unwise, as they are very much related to that body. Then, of course, one must identify lunar themes...

IF Saturn is karmic and IF the nodes are karmic, then we see a strongly karmic link b/w the two of you. Sounds redundant, no? The Quincunx itself has often been said to be karmic. Saturn, in my estimation, is paternal (more so than the Sun). The Saturn partner may represent such an energy to the nodes person in this case. Possibly. In terms of who receives what and to what degree, Kim Falconer suggests that the nodes person activates the planets person, others say the opposite, and Eleanor Buckwalter suggests that the link is felt both ways. In other words, no one has any idea.

LOL

Dear Cate, you have a great time as well! May all your wishes come true!
I hear you on the Nodes, thanx for the effort and great insight.
I don't know if you're still going to read this before Xmas but I want to send you some cool Xmas vibes, a kiss and a warm hug! You have been AWESOME!

I have my first date with *someone very special* tomorrow, on XMAS!!
How about unusual? First time for us to be alone all day long....time to explode, float on clouds and have a real fast heartbeat! And probably talk, talk, talk and LAUGH!
Oh...my GOD! Don't know if I'll survive (a bit overdone there Merc
I am so grateful~
Have not been eating or sleeping very well lately.

Love and blessings to all of you!
