I posted this about 6 months ago, but I'll re-post it now because I think it addresses your question.First, let me make my premises clear.
·man consists of two completely separate parts, the spiritual Soul and the human body.
·that the Soul is reborn again and again into this physical plane in a material body with the goal being for the Soul to evolve back to the Oneness from which it became separated.
·that it is the spiritual Soul of each of us that God loves and cares for, not the physical body.
·That free choice between turning our existence over to our spiritual Soul or our material Ego is what this world is all about.
·And last of all, each of us has a special Soul Quest, represented by our natal chart, in each lifecycle that we are working to achieve. This Quest involves both our spiritual evolvement and supporting and helping others to evolve.
I believe that before we are born into the physical world, we decide who our parents will be, what environment/culture we will be born into, our major trials and tribulations that we will face in this lifecycle, and what our Soul Quest will be for this cycle. All of this is illustrated in our natal chart. If for example, learning humility is a major work for this lifecycle quest, then I will pick the perfect human scenario to provide me the opportunities to work on that facet of my soul’s evolution.
God’s interesting twist to this whole plan is that once we are born, the memory of that decision is gone from our conscious mind, and buried deep within our unconscious. As we grow and become culurated (my word) in the physical world, we develop an Ego quest, or what we think our life is all about. If we are in a spiritual family, we may even start to understand something about our soul.
At some point in time, usually determined by our outer planet transits, we start to realize that our Ego Quest isn’t fulfilling our inner needs, and we start to look for other parts of ourselves to develop. This normally leads to turning back toward our Soul Quest in one fashion or another.
Throughout our life from the point on, we struggle with living according to our Ego Quest, or living our life according to our Soul Quest. Most people refer to this as Free Choice.
Eventually we die or transform back to our Soul consciousness, come to an understanding about what we accomplished and what we didn’t, decide what we (Our Soul) needs to do in the next lifecycle, and determine the best time, place, family, and environment to be born into. We may continue on a particular Quest, or more likely, we will take the other side of the situation in order to understand it from all perspectives.
Now, at the beginning, I said that God loves our souls, not our human bodies. By that I mean it’s understood that the body serves as a mechanism or vehicle in life that provides us with the ability to move through the physical world, interact with other bodies, and develop the Ego.
Because we here now in this physical plane have difficulty relating to the unseen or improvable, we focus on the physical body as the end all of existence. When someone dies, we become sad, mad, or whatever depending on our relationship to them or human beings in general. Why that is perfectly normal, human, and understandable, its very short sighted.
Some souls transform into the physical world for no other reason than to leave again in a short time. They do this not so much for their Soul’s growth, but to help other souls evolve. How often have you seen people who have lost a child early in life be galvanized to do something for all children in the name of their child that wouldn’t have happened without their child’s death.
We have a special soul connection with the people in our life that we come intimately in contact with. Our souls have all agreed to work together in this lifecycle for the growth of all. As physical humans we are separate from 99.99% of all other humans, but our souls are all connected in many complex ways.
If we all understood this concept clearly, and without reservations, the world would be a far different place. And if God wanted to make this clear to all, it would happen, but then where would free choice be.
Now, as to how astrology is connected to all of this. As I said, our natal charts show our life quests and our strengths and weaknesses in a particular lifecycle. You could call it a life road map. The “one less traveled” according to Bishop Pike. As we live our life we get side tracked on our journey. Transits provide us with life experiences, the intensity of which is dependent upon how far a field we have gotten, to bring us back to our Soul Quest.
Just some thoughts
