Hi all ,I'm curious to know how Jupiter has manifested "luck" into peoples lives. I have a Saggi sun, sag rising and Jupiter in Libra in the 11th. I do consider myself to have tonnes of friends, but I really need space in friendships and clingy, demanding friendships only encourage me to run a mile. I do consider my friends to be a real blessing, but my scorp moon also needs lots of time alone. I used to also enter alot of competitions in magazines when my kids were little, and even though I never won things of enormous monetary value, I still won quite alot of little things, including a holiday, a T.V, and toys for our kids, etc. But, you know, we hear so much about how 'lucky' Jupiter is, and quite frankly, I have never recieved a huge lucky break regarding money, or career or anything of that nature, not that I mind, but, hey, it would be nice, let's face it! In alot of ways, I think the biggest blessing that I have recieved from Jupiter, is my optimism, my sense of humour, and my ability to inspire others What do you all think??? Any major good luck stories floating around, I'd love to hear all of your veiws and lucky breaks regarding Jolly Jupiter Bring 'em on!!! poops IP: Logged |

Hi, poops! I have Jupiter in the 4th in Scorpio, conjunct my Moon. I think maybe it has manifested in the way that I had luck in getting a pretty large flat (for my age and position this is really lucky, believe me, as most of the people of my age either still live at their parents' or in small rented flats). And as I have quite large demands (Jupiter again) in this area, I know that someday I'll have a house. I don't know how or when since I don't make enough money and I don't even have a regular job, but I know it. How's that for Jupiter-like megalomania? Jupiter in the 4th means, I think, "a large home". But it also means good relationship with the parents, which is not true in my case, but I have Jupiter in opposition with Saturn in the 10th (10th house meaning the mother). But I think my luck is more connected to my Sun and Venus in the 11th, since the 11th house is "the house of wishes fulfilled". I don't know, I have to hear from others - how their Jupiter works in their charts. morgana IP: Logged |

Hey - I have Jupiter in my Tenth and Mars in the 10th Conj that (one in Virgo, one in Leo, but 3°28). Hm. I read somewhere that people w/ Jupiter in the 10th get career-related offers thrown at them, and I have to say that that's true. (The following is not a complaint, only an observation.) I'm a Pisces Sun, and - I don't know how normal this is for Fish - but a large part of me doesn't really care a whit about the prestige, etc. associated w/ a job; right now I'm going to school and working part time at a video store - because, you know, it's fun. But while working at that fun, bs-ing w/ the customers, watching movies job, I've had people throw their business cards at me, saying that they'd love to have me as an intern, or that I should "definitely contact them as graduation approaches". Others give me literature about their job, or offer to become sources for whatever paper or article I'm writing. And, again, I'M NOT COMPLAINING (I've capitalized that for the benefit of the little demons that circle over head and guarantee that that which I say bites me in the butt...so, NOT COMPLAINING, NOT COMPLAINING, NOT COMPLAINING), it's just odd. From http://members.aol.com/terriastro/apr98.htm : (...) I can say for sure is that the energy of that planet is more pronounced than if it were direct. If the planet is stationary at the time of birth, or at significantly reduced speed, it is even more pronounced. That is, retrograde and stationary natal planets function at the extreme ranges of their expression. Retrograde and stationary planets have heightened energy and the state of retrogradation can alter or divert the energy of a planet from its normal expressions. Why would this be so? When a planet is retrograde it is actually closer to the earth. This is why the planet's energy is more pronounced. This means its energy is more personal to the person who has it retrograde in the natal chart. It can mean that it is difficult for the person to experience that planet's energies as separate from the self. In this sense, it can be difficult to 'control' a retrograde planet or experience its energies objectively. It is easier both to objectify and to detach oneself from the energies of planets in direct motion. When a planet is stationary or retrograde at birth, the expression of that planet's energies are usually less obvious, less open, and much more inwardly focused. (...) A person with four or more retrograde planets tends to be someone who marches to their own drum beat. From http://www.north-node.com/asabove/archive/20021001.html : When a planet in your chart is retrograde, you experience the energy of the planet in a more subjective, internal way. Thus your experience and expression of the planet's energy is very unique to you. There is also a link to the past, or a concern with the past. Some karmic astrologers believe that retrograde planets indicate a link to a past life. ...With Venus retrograde in your natal chart, your concept of beauty is different, comes from a different place, than those around you. With Mercury retrograde, your thinking is different. With Jupiter, planet of philosophy, your ethics, morality and religion may differ from your family's. ...You chart shows your life's lessons: those you have already learned and integrated, and those you're still working on. It could be that you brought over the past life energy shown by the retrograde, to assist you in your soul growth in this lifetime.
From http://www.astrologyetal.com/retrogrades.htm : Jupiter retrograde people are constantly soul tripping inward, expanding the awareness of the philosophies of the universe -- the inner universe. And from http://www.galacticcenter.org/retrograde%20planets.htm : A retrograde planet seems to be intensified, a bit eccentric and out of control. It will cause problems because it does not function like forward moving planets. It is like a dyslectic planet, not the norm, misunderstood with a bit of genius, if only its energy can be harnessed. This info's prolly a bit general and elementary, but eh. It can be pinched to fit.

Proxieme, interesting reading on the retrogrades (i've got 5). If I remember correctly, you have 6, right?.......I read that once the planets goes direct by progression it's expressed outwardly. Well, I've got 3 down and 2 to go. IP: Logged |

Proxieme, thanks! I didn't find anything useful in my books, but this info that you found is really helpful! It makes sense that if something stays in one place for a longer time, it has a greater effect. Aphrodite, I know, I'm waiting for Jupiter's transit in my 2nd house for years... Hi, Alena! So you now sth about how progression works? I posted a topic about that, could you maybe take a peek? (Sorry for butting in like this...) morgana IP: Logged |

Hi again everyone Just for the record, my Jupiter is in Libra in the 11th, squaring my Saggi sun & Merc in Cappie both in the 1st, trining Venus in Aqua in the 3rd, while conjunct Uranus in Libra in the 11th and Pluto in Virgo in the 10th. It also opposes Chiron in Pisces in the 4th, whatever that all means! I've read great things about ones Jupiter trineing Venus, so presumably, this is an asset that I'm happy to have. Naturally my super dooper bloody Jupiter hips are the liability, that I'd be happy to trade it.......any takers??? Thanks for all your input everyone. poops IP: Logged |

I have retro Jupiter in my 8th.....Retro Jupiter can indicate legal problems.... YES my hand is up there...as I think you all know I have a major legal situation with my ex that's been going on since 1999 Interestingly enough...my ex also has retro Jupiter.....he is very litigatious (always has some legal wrangle going on with someone).... For me...this is my first and I so hope last legal situation. The 8th = other people's money, help, support etc I can say that my 8th house Jupiter is really coming through for me. My friends have been totally amazing. I am really blessed. One friend (of 16 years) said to me "Sue, at least now you really know who your true friends are" and a truer statement has never been said! I have nothing to offer anyone except me and my friendship. Sue IP: Logged |

im not sure...Jupiter is in Scorpio/6th house for me and it seems to manifest no luck whatsoever! Course it doesnt help it squares my mercury and midheaven/sun As far as my luck goes...well, i've gone down the pan emotionally quite a few times but meterialistically i've never really hit rock bottom, which i suppose is good, although i've never been affluent either. Luck for me is a last-second thing that clinches something and turns it around - not a "peak on an up-cycle". IP: Logged |

I've had Jupiter transitting my first house this autumn and put on EIGHT kilos!!! Hopefully I'll get that amount in gold when it gets to my second house... I have Jupiter-Venus trine, the so-called golden horseshoe, but I've never won anything my entire life. But I'm charming, good-looking and optimistic, that's always something...-) My luckiest moment is leaving a cinema shortly before a bomb goes off and kills 65 people. And cancelling last minute a trip to a place that the day I should arrive was severly hit by an earthquake.

quote: Jupiter retrograde and past livesIt takes 12 years for Jupiter to travel around the Sun; then it pauses at its stationary position for five to eight days. Approximately once a year, for around four months or so, this planet is in retrograde. Jupiter, like Saturn, is a social planet. Its actions affect people in a very holistic manner. The retrograde of Jupiter causes us to reevaluate our ethics as a society. Philosophies are rewritten, religious or spiritual beliefs are questioned and the very fibers of our being are scrutinized. Lessons that have become commonplace and routine are seen in a new light. The results of these changes can be either fruitful or inauspicious, depending on the individual, the culture and the situation. Working from the premise that the universe flows within us and that individuals are connected by a greater thread, we focus more on the similarities and trends that span the globe than on the individual. Jupiter in retrograde isn't a great time for travel, as plans are likely to cave in on themselves.
If Jupiter's retrograde is in your chart, you are likely to be the type of person who is always searching for ethics and values. You constantly seek truth and deeper meaning in life but rarely reach a stage of understanding. Ritual becomes a chore and you feel uneasy in your skin as you follow in blind faith. Oftentimes you jump onto the current intellectual bandwagon only to be disappointed in the end. You suffer from feeling the cold lack of spiritual fulfillment or you feel tugged at by the constant demands of your spirituality or philosophy. You strive to find the right spiritual balance.
I have Jupiter retro in my 2nd house...in Pisces ...yet , I can make mine almost all Sue's words... quote: I have a major legal situation with my ex that's been going on since 2000 ...he is very litigatious (always has some legal wrangle going on with someone).... For me...this is my first and I so hope last legal situation.
