Topic: Descendant : indicator of who your attracted to and your own relationship style?

Once I went to an astrologer and when I arrived he said my chart indicates I've had a really intense suffocating relationship for the last year with a Scorpio type. I said exactly ,how did you know and he said because my descendant is in scorpio(the opposite of ascendant) mine being taurus.
He said this governs both who your attracted to and how you actually are yourself in a relationship.
From my personal experience this is true I do become scopio like in a relationship and until I could admit and recognise this I was often going for scorpios (which never worked,anyhow me being a Sag)
My advice is own your relationship type (desc) instead of looking for it in a partner and probably the best bet is to have your desc as their asc ie a tarus rising with a scorp rising.
This works well cos the desc determines what you find appealing in appearance which is found in the asc rather than the sun .Phew!!Big talker!!!IP: Logged |

I can relate to that Jason as I went with a descendant and it was  I am now with a guy whos asc is my desc!! and it is fantastic  and has been fantastic for 5 years now  IP: Logged |

I have the same thing going on,I have been with two Gemini men in the last year,the man I left behind had a lunar scorpio,he tended to hide his true feelings too much and I moved away from him and am trying to remain friends-it's hard to do with him!This is what I wrote for him,I hope he stays friends with me! Playing Pisces, I saw your other thread, but you didn't leave a birth time. Gemini men are VERY hard to understand and are not as emotional, at all, as a Pisces woman. There is, of course, other aspects that you would have to look at concerning your chart and their chart. Being a water sign, you would identify with is moon more rapidly that he would. Gemini is my polar opposite, but we do have the whole "let us be free" thing going on. He may have identified with your ascendant, as you said it was his opposite (Sag), but on a closer level he could not understand your emotions needs and you could not understand his need to intellectualize everything. He also seems to have a lot of fire in his chart, which may not really suit a water sign, then again, I don't know your chart. ------------------

Hi Jason from Oz,I would have to agree with you. Pisces rules my 7th house, what I was told is that this houses is one of the indicators of what we are attracted to and what we need in a relationship. If you are interested I looked up this information for you from astrology unlimited. Maybe you would like it.
Taurus on the 1st House cusp.
The face you show the world is one of patience, tolerance, will power and steady conviction. Taurus rising can slow down and stabilize even the most highly strung sun sign and create an exterior of careful watchfulness and personal integrity. You will find that you are slow to warm up to people, never unfriendly, but careful. You do not rush through your life but allow it to unfold leisurely...at it's own pace. G'day Jase Nice to meet you I know EXACTLY what you are talking about becasue my Asc is Taurus and my Des is Scorpio also... I am constantly attracted to scorpio's or scorpio type people (Mysterious, slightly possessive etc.)
- OR - and this is the weird thing - I become like a scorpio when i am in a relationship - posessive, secretive, a little jealous etc. Good topic

hmmm...this is strange...I am currently really really attracted to a Virgo...the attraction is very strong...probably stronger than my weird attraction to Scorpios...and thier attraction to me.For those that read my other thread about the Vrigo friend asking me out....the freind is a Scorpio. Odd....very odd... So I'm wondering what this means...when I'm around the Virgo..I notice myself acting more Picean (my ascendant), I become all timid/shy/stary eye'd. Unlike other relationshps I've had where I've been the dominant.."LEO" personality. I purr like a kitty with the Virgo instead of roaring like the lion that I'm SUPPOSED to be!! LOL IP: Logged |

Dear Finance Chick,
I;m the one who posted this topic and your situation confirms the theory that we are often attracted to people with the same sign as our own DESCENDANT .Yours is Virgo ,the opposite sign of your ascendant pisces, and you are attracted to a Virgo, (Hows that for a theory proved!!!). The theory also saya that when your in a relationship you act like your descendant ,in your case virgo, shy logic obsessed, worried ,second guessing, doormat etc .Is this true in your case?

Just finally figured out what my descendant is today.I dated two before, then later had a relationship with another, and now I'm chasing a set of twins, they're all Scorpios. Turns out the odds are, 5 of the last 6 women I've been out romantically with have been Scorps... jason you may have something there
 But to be honest I don't know if it's descendant attraction, or the fact that after I read Linda's books I gave special attention to Scorp women. Ya know, all that passion and sexuality they have boiling under that cool, poised exterior, and every bit is true!  IP: Logged |

Hm, yeah.
My Asc is Scorpio, so my Desc is Taurus, and I've dated a Sun-Sign Taurean dude - and I've gotta admit that I'm attracted to Bull guys in general. They're so wonderfully but softly masculine...
but, to be honest - and this isn't to insult anyone Bulls out there -, even if they're really intelligent individuals, they tend to be a bit dense when it comes to my banter. In person I have a really dry sense of humor - I'll say something completely off the cuff, and they'll respond, "No!? Ohmygod! Really?" and I'm like, "No...I was kidding. Ha ha."
For a week my ex actually thought that I was going on dates with guys and charging them (you know, prostituting myself) because I made a joke along those lines.As far as my behavior when in lurve:

OK. This is Taurean:
I, uh, kinda, um, won't get out of bed...or off the counter...or the floor...or the couch...the closet, bathroom, changing room, car...you get the picture.
When I'm not in a relationship, people have thought that I was a closet lesbian (no, really, they have) because I'm completely uninterested and oblivious (which wouldn't quite gel w/ a Scorp Asc, but...), but once in one I'll wear a guy out. Completely. I mean, our sh*t's sore. At least at first.

Things quiet down in time...a little...but I haven't been involved for more than a year or so w/ anyone so I can't really say.
In the relative short term, which is all I can talk about with confidence, I'll get physical in general. Just touch, the feel of skin on skin, is wonderful. And everyone likes the smell of the person that they're seeing, but I'll get intoxicated by it. But I don't think that's everything. For instance, I w/ my 3rd House Aqua Moon (I guess) need above all else to be friends, to have a real mental rapport with a guy. If that's not there all of the above will never happen. Prolly too much info, but hey -

Oxychick...I have Gemini Rising, so I guess that means I have Sag. descending too. I've never dated a Sag, either...but I HAVE been madly attracted to a few! What does it mean to have a "Sag relationship style"? I'm not sure I understand that part of this thread...but I know I get pretty excited and upbeat when I am in a relationship, so maybe that has something to do with it? IP: Logged |

Lost Leo, both TWINS????? Boy, you are one busy man! Or is it that if one can't go out the other will? Hehe!  Handy Andy!Don't forget that the ruler of the 7th house is very important as well as in you would be attracted to someone with a strong in my case, Neptune (Pisces Desc.). There have been people with a strong Neptune placement I was attracted to but their sunsign was for instance Aries. Some time ago this Moroccan guy (some of you remember) I had this amazing connection with (still have but I had to close the book due to several reasons) is an Aries with Merc. Venus and Mars in Aries too. But he has a Neptune singleton and his Neptune Trines his MC plus 5 other aspect to his Neptune. Obviously this arrouses me! Boy his eyes still give me weak knees and sure we are travelling to another planet while talking all the surroundings vanish! That's also, what J.from Oz said (cute name), my relationship behaviour or should I say tendency; Going all Neptune on someone and wishing they would fly off with me into dreamland, there where everything is swéét!
