In todays market, with so many of us out of work; what indications can we look for in our natal charts and transits?

Are you talking about best times to look for a job based on your natal chart or career paths? I can help with the career and work place. When looking at a career or job for yourself Sun and rising are very important. There's a great astrology book called "Parkers Astrology" which goes into detail about jobs/career etc and how to interprit the charts etc..a lot of which I can't list here...too much detail. If you don't mind telling me your sun and rising I can give you a hint as to a possible career. Hope this helps!!

Hi Lanny
I can't remember....is your rising Virgo?
Or is that just your Sun?

Hi Lanny
Oh ok....I had somehow got it in my head that you were a Virgo rising.
I have have both Virgo Sun and rising - transiting Saturn in Gemini has been tough for me - hitting all my angles plus I have Uranus transiting my 6th house. I was made redundant and have not as yet found any steady work. Lots of things have come up but something always stopped them from happening. I'm hoping that once Saturn moves into Cancer that things will change - however using Koch my 10th house is all Gemini (MC is @ 1 degree) and half Cancer...so I guess time will tell.

Dear Illog,
I believe the midheaven indicates what you want to achieve through your work, for example in my case pisces midheaven ,helping others.
However, how you actually achieve this is by being yourself- your sun, so for you Virgo the job would involve logic efficiency, organisation, travel and variety (being a mutable sign)etc.
AND the skills you would bring to the job which actually define your niche are from the ascendant, in your case cap, business sense, achievement etc.
so for an example if your midheaven was pisces you might work in a position helping others ie social work , amnesty int (midheav)/ be in charge of business side of things (cap asc)/ and the actual position would involve all the things that come naturally to a virgo and which they excell travelling, organising meeting people and casting good impression, hard working consevative but active and adventurous.
I hope this helped you i,m just relating to personal experience.

Thank you Jason, but I wasn't talking about my natal potential, I'm well aware of what that is; what I'm wondering is what transits or progressions to look at for an idea of job possibilities.

Hey Amber I just thought of something! You could teach your spells and stuff!! You could charge perhaps? I don't know, just trying to think of something. Or maybe you could babysit some of your kid's friends? Well I know these aren't permanent things I am suggesting just trying to help. Maybe you should bartend, you are pretty and that will bring in a lot of money!

I looked at the transits at a time where my career went really very smoothly and where I could pick and choose between job offers. Saturn was transitting my 6th house. Saturn is the ruler of my sixth house and I have natal Saturn in the 6th house, as well. It was the time of my first Saturn return. The only positive aspect of my natal Saturn is a sextil to MC. I also had Jupiter going through my first and second house. Jupiter moving in to my first house now, as well, and jobwise things looks very well.
I hope you get a great job soon, Lanny! Or have you ever thought of going freelance/setting up your own business?

I've thought about it, but so many of the home based things are just rip-offs. I would love to have my own business, but don't know how to go about getting one.

I`m riding in the same boat as Lanny & am wondering the same. I know why my business dissolved & know I have an abundance in the divine, yet I`m unsure what job I`m even looking at! I know this is an opportunity for soul growth & wish to utilize it for my greatest potential. I was hoping an indication or two in my transits would help fill in the blanks.

WychOfAvalon, keep positive & always looking inward to s-elf... Expect a Miracle...

Lanny, bless you for my transits. It gives me hope in s-elf & helps guide me along the path.

Love, lite and blessings to all; particularly those in need of employment.

I have read that the 12th house represents the employer. Are Uranus and Neptune transiting this house for you Lanny? What aspects are they making with your natal planets? Just a few things worth tinkering about.

Best of luck to you.

Hey Aphrodite
That's interesting re
"I have read that the 12th house represents the employer"

Can you expand a little on that?
You know the 12 house is an ongoing mystery even for a 12th houser like me.....I love to get any info I can about it for my ongoing self discovery.

Hey Fajita! I'd just feel weird charging people money to teach them spells. That's some thing I'd rather do just because I feel someone is really serious about it and that I want to do out of my heart... not because I'm desperate

I've thought of bartending and I'd actually probably REALLY enjoy that but I don't know how to make that many drinks! LOL

They have charts behind the bar. And you can be trained. Some of the names of drinks can be very explicit, though!

I was made redundant just before christmas in a job that I loved!!! Now, I have applied for nearly 100 jobs since and have had 2 to 3 interviews only with no luck Lucky for me my partner and parents are very supportive and try and help out when they can. Its not a nice feeling not having that security though.

You unemployed guys have my full sympathy! Here's a recommended read to keep your courage up: "Be your own life coach" by Fiona Harrold. (Get it from amazon). It gave me the inspiration to try a different approach, and made me realize all my ressources. And it did work!
Good luck and don't give up!
Amber, I've worked as a bartender, it's dead easy. Most of the customers are too drunk to realize what they're drinking anyway...

It would be nice if we could find something for those who are unemployed but into spirituality. I personally never charge for anything I do having to do with readings, its my way of serving others, and don't want to contabinate it with involving money.

I trust completly with trusting in the divine, so I know something will work out for the best. Fortunantly, I have a small Navy retirement to carry me until I find something.
