a few months ago, i discovered the nodes. a book was recommended to me that has changed my life completely (astrology for the soul by jan spiller). so i discovered that my north node is virgo in the 8th house. the chapters blew me away. they felt sooooo right. so the north node (being what you are here to learn in this lifetime) energy is compelling me toward organization, doing vs. dreaming (-virgo) and taking more risks, openness to merging with others, etc (-scorpio).

and then there's my saturn in virgo in the 8th that's conjunct to my north node. and saturn is the lessons you need to learn in this lifetime, right?

and then there's my MC in scorpio. okay, so this might be hard to understand without looking at my chart, but my moon in taurus is really afflicted, and it's 7 dgrees from my IC, opposite my MC. my MC's really afflicted too, but it's indicative of where i'm going in life/ my ego drive, right? so it's important.

okay, and then i read in the astro course, that the ruling planet of your ascendant is really significant..in my case (cap asc), this would be saturn.

so what i think i'm getting from all of this is that this lifetime, for me, is very much about embracing virgoness.. and scorpio seems important in this mix too..

Yes Cappy asc would make Saturn your chart ruler. How do you find Saturn? Restricting, does it talk to you a lot....don't do that, that's not what you should do etc etc?
Just wondering how you feel it's affects. I have Saturn in my 1st house and it's unaspected - so it talks to me all the time

The North node is where you should be heading (learning lessons) in this life time and yes Jan Spiller's book is excellent - soooo much info.

I can't remember off hand...(sorry) but have you joined our free astrology course? I think you'd really enjoy it. Astrology is a never ending learning journey. Which I love.

well.. i'm thinking my saturn is heavy in my life.. i dunno, i feel like i'm always bumping up against restrictions (tho that could be my aqua sun, merc and mars, all tightly conjunct in my first house, being rebellious). i just thot it was really interesting to have my n.node conjunct my saturn and also my asc. ruler to be saturn.. seems like a strong energy. i love a challenge (tho, maybe a little too much?), so i don't mind if saturn wants to test me alot. tho, interestingly, my saturn's really well aspected.

Yes I know what you mean re Saturn being a "tad" heavy in life.. that's for sure why you feel like you're always bumping up against restrictions.

It's great you don't mind saturn's testing - your aqua "stuff" will be a great help with that Plus good news that your saturn is well aspected - I'm guessing you had a good relationship/rapport with your father? As Saturn usually represents the father in a chart ...mind you these days of one parent families it gets kind of confusing as the mother can play that role as well. But usually Saturn is the father and the Moon is the mother.

Thanks for your chart info. I would love to take a look. I'm a bit bogged down with a legal situation .... and having to go thru a ton of paperwork but I will take a look when I get some free time....it will be a nice relief from everything I'm having to deal with a the moment.

Just one question re your time???
How come you are so sure re your asc? As the time of birth would determine that? Just wondering.....

about saturn. well, it's a pain in the a** to deal with. i swear, my life's all about catharticism.. i'm always going throo difficulties, it seems. i think i usually do learn something, tho.. so i like the challenge of it, cuz i know there's always something to be learned. perhaps it relates to cap rising; in that my early life was full of restrictions and responsibility, and my mom was really cold, i was really lonely, etc.. but cap grows younger instead of older, and i feel the burdens slowly easing off of me.. still have a lot to go throo (i'm only 24 and i'm pregnant with my second child, the father and i are breaking up, and i have fibromyalgia), but somehow i sense things will get easier.

why do you think my aquarian planets will be helpful in dealing with saturn?

and to answer your question, i didn't really have a great relationship with my dad. well, it's weird.. he's an abusive alcoholic, who tells me often what a f***up i am, yet, i see how sensitive he is deepdown, and he was severely abused as a child.. so i have a great fondness for him. that's probably my venus in the 12th tho.. and i do have some really good memories of him from when i was younger. my feelings about him are mixed, but overall they're very compassionate and loving. i feel more love with him than i do with my mom. my mom has always been very cold with me. and my dad very emotional. she's cap moon, he's cancer moon.

Ok your time of birth would be 6:59am in order to give you an 8 degree cappy ascendant.

When you say....

Re your comments about your relationship with your Mother....

You mentioned your Mum has a cappy moon but this wouldn't be the only reason for the way your relationship was/is with her. In your natal chart you have an exact (0 degree) - Uranus opp Moon. This aspect shows exactly the type of relationship you would have with your Mother ie: She was never really "there" for you emotionally etc.

You asked...

Aquarius is ruled by Uranus - which can be kind of erractic. It certainly does not like too much structure, can bring about sudden changes etc. So this planetary influence won't really like Saturn always wanting structure, being patient etc. You may "swing" between the two influences (but I'd need to look at your whole chart to verify that statement). Anyway your Aquarian influences will no doubt shake up Saturn and stop things from becoming too boring/restricted for you.

Your comments about your father are interesting. Yes Saturn is nicely aspected in your chart...except for one thing... Neptune (in your 12th house) makes a square to Saturn. It's not a tight square (7 degrees). Now think about how Neptune works....It can cause us not to see things clearly and here's an interesting thought....alcohol comes under Neptune.
I think Neptune in your 12th explains a lot about your relationship/feeling with your father. Also remember 12th = things that are hidden. I think you see how sensitive he is deep down because of that 12th house Neptune placement which squares your Saturn.
Your mixed feelings about him again would be Neptune's influence - Neptune can "cloud things".

When you say...

That shows in your chart. You have 2 squares and 2 oppositions to your Moon. In fact you have 2 T-Squares in your chart - both involving your Moon.

You know you have Jupiter natally in your 7th house? Yes Jupiter is thought to be the planet of good luck but it's also the planet of expansion. Sometimes can make you overconfident in the issues that are covered by the house it's in. The 7th house = relationships/partnerships. So even though Jupiter could bring you luck in partnerships it could also bring you many partners/marriages because you can possibily love marriage too much! Always remember, Jupiter shows the place in your life where you feel confident and overconfident but it also shows where you can overreach yourself. Jupiter in the 7th could also point to marriage to a foreigner or someone from a totally different background.

I use Koch house system and Neptune was in your 12th with that system. I'd have to check your chart again to see what degree it's at.

Astro site use placidus house system.

my neptune is 19 degrees sag, and my 12th house starts at 20 degrees.

i'm always so confused by the different house systems. i'm not farmiliar with koch. i find the placidus system works for me, it feels pretty right in how it interprets my chart, but maybe there is something more accurate.
