I was born @ 23:04 on August 18th...

So because of Daylights Saving Time, does that mean my REAL birth date & time would be August 19th @ 00:04?

Hi Lost Leo,

It really depends on where and when (year) you were born and what the hospital policies are. Most hosptitals today do not convert the birth time to standard time if the child is born during daylight savings time. They used to, but they stopped sometime in the '80's. So, the birth certificate should indicate the time as ST or DT.

At astro.com, I think you have to specify, otherwise, they use standard time. Although, I do know they automatically convert to War Time for all births during WWII.

Hi LL,

I too, was born during Daylight Savings Time. When I ran my chart on Astro.com I typed in the Daylight Savings Time hour and apparently it DID account for it...subtracting the one hour. My chart w/Ascendant is accurate. I know this because my Mother calculated it by doing the mathematical work long before there were computers, lol. When I first went to Astro.com I decided to use the Daylight Savings Time hour to see if it did automatically subtract it and use the Standard Time; I had an advantage because I already knew what my chart should be.

So, if you use the Daylight Savings Time hour of your birth on Astro.com, it should subtract an hour, making your actual time 22:04 on August 18th. Remember...when Daylight Savings Time arrives we set our clocks ahead 1 hour, which means if we were born during that time of year we would subtract one hour to get the Standard. Hope that helps!

Touche!

I have several different Astrology packages which come with atlas and Time Change info pre programmed. I also have the ACS Computer Atlas and that is one of the BEST sources for said changes.

Thank God I don'thave to manually crank out the charts by hand anymore... it's always so hard to remember all those nasty time zone and DST changes! This is why God made computers!
