I do, I do! I'm wondering if there's alot of 8th house suns in this forum, because I have a theory that this placement lends itself well to the study of Astrology.IP: Logged |

Nope, not here. My Sun is in my 4th house. I have Saturn in my 8th house. IP: Logged |

That's odd, because Saturn represents where your blockages are. 8th house deals with, among other things, the occult which Astrology is a part of. So you must have other factors that are nullifying the effects of Saturn.IP: Logged |

My Saturn is in Retrograde and actually trines my Sun (Saturn is in Taurus). That may be why I am receptive to astrology and other metaphysical things. I also have Mars in Pisces and Uranus in my first house (which lends to things coming to me in a rather 'flashy' way). It does make it hard for me to sometimes explain theories..LOL ..like heat.. but I do grasp these concepts, see the big pic...then that old Moon opposing Uranus, squaring Mercury, gets me tongue tied...maybe that is why I have a long tongue too? Hmmmm, I'm seeing new theory to purpose...Just kidding.. Geez, I am totally spazzing today...must be the cosmic influences.

Hey Lioneye...Did you see Hooked? That's a pretty powerful combination.By the way...you are a super Leo!!! Lot's of Leo planets. Tell me, do you fare well with the Virgo? I think there are actually a fair number of Leo women that date and marry Virgo and Pisces men. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I saw that. Hooked, you walk a slippery slope in that house of horrors. How do you like it? Super Leo....I love that!! (of course) I got a thing for Virgos that makes no sense at all. It would seem we have nothing in common, but the differences are welcome, by both parties. I think, if I'm Sag rising, that would make Jupiter the ruler of my chart, and lo and behold, I have Jupiter in Virgo.IP: Logged |

I like it very much Although I just recently noticed soemthing odd. My chart from www.astro.com shows my sun on cusp of 8/9, so it says since my sun is at the end of the 8th house it is interpreted as 9? I thought if it was technically in 8, then it is in 8. Isn't it either one or the other?

Greetings...In traditional Astrology any planet within 5 degrees of the follwing house cna be read as if it were positioned in the next house. I think this has a lot to do with the inexactness of birth times, and the fact that no matter what we like to believe, mathematics still can't quite fathom the depths of the Soul! You may read it as being in BOTH houses, but I think that if you are honest with yourself, you may find that one interpretation "fits" better than the other. Hope that helps some. Blessings... What house system does that one use? I'm partial to Placidus, because it makes more sense with my own chart. (puts my Saturn in the 4th, which feels more correct to me than the 5th) I think just the fact that you're interested in Astrology indicates an 8th house sun. (it's conducive to my theory, you see)IP: Logged |

Aselzion, Do you also find that to be true with the signs? For example, my Mars is 1 Pisces 17' and my Jupiter is 0 Scorpio 6'. Thanks, Pidaua IP: Logged |

Hello pidaua...NO! Houses yes! Signs maintain their influence throughout the Sign... now, you may be interested in looking up the decanate, Chaldean decanate (or Face as they are called by traditional astrologers) and Dwad... that can modify the influence of the sign a wee bit... but there is always a marked difference in the energy of Pisces that cannot be morphed into the energies of Aquarius nor Aries... make any sense? Linda would always say it's like having a light that is half on and half off... it doesn't happen in any meaningful way! Lioneyes... Traditional astrology is it's own study... it usually uses Regiomontanus, Placidus or Campanus House Systems; depending on the training and taste of the astrologer and/or his/her teacher. Personally, I use Campanus when I want to look at a chart in a mundane way.. and Equal if I want a peek into the more spiritual aspects of the nativity. Hope that helps some... Blessings... Aselzion,Thank you so much. I totally understand what you mean. It makes perfect sense. When I read the descriptions of Libra vs Scorpio in the signs I see the I am definetly Scorpian in that way as well as the description of Mars in Pisces. My issue with the latter, is that I am not as emotional in the "crying" way as the description details. Nor am I afraid of confrontation. I think that the fire in my chart must stifle some of the non-confrontation traits in Pisces, but in the same way, I love having the Pisces mars because it tempers the fire. It also allows be to be more compassionate in an confrontation and see the others point of view. Thanks again, Pidaua IP: Logged |
