lovely unregistered	posted June 02, 2003 02:13 PM my ascendant is 1 degree cancer, would this make me seem more of a gemini ascendant? im curious because after posting my picture, i had more people than not guess gemini...is there anything to this? thanks, IP: Logged
lioneye68 unregistered	posted June 02, 2003 04:34 PM Nope, I don't think that's it, Lovely. It's just that you've got so much Mercurial influence, it probably down plays the Cancer influence. When house cusps are close to the end of a sign, the effects are "thrown forward" anyway, I think. Not sure if that applies to the ascendant, but I've heard this said about planets that are in the last (3 or less maybe) degrees of the house. So if it's 1 degree Cancer, it's fully Cancer. Just my "spin", but I'm no pro. IP: Logged

Where's Mercury in your chart? libra, 4th house What planets do you have in Gemini or Virgo sun, moon, venus=virgo in 4th, 3rd, 3rd respectively. and gem southnode and chiron. i guess that explains it, yep. I am 3 degrees Sag and feel more like Scorp, but I will check out your suggestion. I know my mother was given a drug during labor to slow the birth because I was coming too fast, I was in labor in the morning but finally was born in the evening, This may sound like a funny question but when technically is a baby born? If a baby is half in and half out of the mother for a while, when do astrologers count the birthtime from? I've always been curious. I will take your advice and verify. Natasha IP: Logged

I believe the person I am thinking of with the Gemini rising is really a Taurus rising, he is stocky and tends to gain weight, a lot of weight, and built more like a Taurus than a Gemini. He really enjoys the good life. As for me, I have noticed Sag risings have large hands, are tall or lanky and have darker hair. I have large hands, but I'm not tall, I have been called lanky but I am more curvy, I go up and down, Probably because of my moon in cancer. I am very fair. I can't find any info on Scorp rising except that they have penetrating eyes. Well, I will have to go with Scorp because the Sag risings I know are the quiet types. Sometimes they have an odd sarcastic comment (which I love) but mostly they are not that competitive. No one would say I am shy and I am very passionate as I said before. I strongly believe in reincarnation. I studied science for quite a while and like a Scorp am very interested in science and the ethical considerations, especially cloning. I was sure I would be a scientist when I was a child. Now I have discovered Art is a science and I have a strong talent which I can use to help others. I know Sag rising likes to help others but the Sag risings I know are social workers or doctors. I knew that something was missing until I put what I felt I knew already to use. I am sure I was an artist in another life, the work flows out of me. I "know" what I am doing before I do it. I think I will continue to use Scorp rising, at least until I can better idea of what Scorp risings look like. Thank you, Natasha IP: Logged

mutablefire unregistered	posted June 12, 2003 04:19 PM I dont' know about how much phyical attributes are determined by the Rising or even Sun sign but I think there are certain qualities that are determined by the planet ruler of the chart, for instance Mercury is the ruler of mine and it gives people under its influence a nervous disposition and the need to keep moving, be active and to like to do more than one thing at once IP: Logged
