Here is a piece I wrote for my newsletter.

Any opposition represents a face to face relationship between the planets. Like marriage partners, they may argue and must learn to cooperate.
Opposite signs simply represent opposite sides of the same issue. Here we have Cancer-Capricorn–growth and maturity. The solution will often be as simple as outgrowing its difficulties. Given that Saturn rules the sign in which Chiron is transiting, the natural stress of an opposition will be minimized.
The current opposition in the sky will have some effects on everyone because it represents something in the atmosphere of the times. Think of Chiron as the great facilitator, promoting healthy maturation. Let Saturn re-define your needs, specifically the need to grow. We might think of the mandate to put away childish things and accept our growing maturity.

For individuals with natal planets, horizon, or meridian near twelve degrees (between seven and seventeen degrees) of Cardinal signs, some effort will be required. For these, the opposition may trigger some growing pains. For those with placements near twelve degrees of Earth and Water signs, the transition will be quite smooth and gracefully accepted.

Possible Effects by House Placement

1-7: or aspecting the Horizon; acceptance of the maturing appearance.
2-8: issues of maturity relate to the self-worth, learning to value maturity, experience and wisdom
3-9: issues of maturity relate to beliefs about aging--growth and maturity
4-10: or aspecting the Midheaven; issues of maturity relate to home and career, of dependence and independence.
5-11: do you act your age? react childishly? Goes both ways–if older, do you allow yourself playtime?
6-12: age-appropriate health and/or work issues–adapting diet and exercise to suit the physical maturation–knowing when it is appropriate to do manual labor.
